Teen Wearing Brass Knuckles Allegedly Sucker Punches 12-Year-Old [Video]

A 16-year-old male allegedly sucker punched a 12-year-old boy while wearing a pair of brass knuckles on his left hand.

After the victim fell to the ground, the suspect delivered three more blows.

The brutal attack at a walking trail in Conway, Arkansas, was captured on a 23-second cell phone video that was uploaded to social media. See the footage embedded below in which the suspect first gives the finger to the camera.

According to the Gateway Pundit, the suspect in the attack himself posted the video to YouTube.

The suspect reportedly told police that the victim was trash talking, allegedly prompting the assault. The victim, however, indicated to investigators that he did not know the suspect.

Without any corroboration, some internet sources claim this is another instance of the so-called knockout game in which unsuspecting bystanders are subject to random violent attacks on the street.

Prosecutors plan to try the suspect as an adult, KARK TV Arkansas Matters in Little Rock reported about the May 31 incident which has just come to light.

If convicted, he could face up to 20 years behind bars. The victim’s family showed the video to local cops on June 1, and the suspect was reportedly arrested the following day at the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Officer after a meeting with his probation officer.

The suspect allegedly told officers that he found the brass knuckles at his apartment complex and subsequently tossed them into a dumpster after the encounter with the pre-teen.

“Kane Millsaps, 16, pleaded not guilty June 3 to first-degree battery, a felony, and possessing an instrument of crime, a misdemeanor,” TheCabinNet reported. He is due back in court on August 2.

“The victim said he lost consciousness after being hit and ‘when he woke up he thought he had gravel in his mouth but it was pieces of his teeth,’ the [police] affidavit stated,” TheCabineNet detailed. In addition to broken teeth, the victim evidently suffered a bruised right eye and cuts to his neck and cheek.

The suspect’s lawyer acknowledged that “The video is disturbing. It caused me like everyone else that saw it a good bit of discomfort.” He added, however, that “If he gets the maximum sentence, which I hope he doesn’t, he’ll get out when he is 36 years old…then what?”

On Thursday, the attorney filed a motion to obtain a mental health evaluation for his client to determine if he is legally competent to stand trial. “The bigger question is why we as Arkansans don’t address mental health issues,” the lawyer claimed. “I think it’s a tragedy, and it has caused not only my client to be incarcerated because of this but it’s also caused a victim to be injured.”

In apologizing to the victim’s family, the suspect’s mother told Fox16 that her son “deals with mental issues and recently spent a year and a half at the juvenile detention center for fighting.” She also described him as “not a bad kid” and “as sweet as can be.”

In an unrelated incident, a West Virginia state senate candidate and U.S. Army war veteran was allegedly beaten with brass knuckles at a cookout in May, the Inquisitr previously detailed. Investigators are trying to determine if the attack was politically motivated.

In Ontario, an alleged road rage incident and/or family dispute of some kind provoked an incident on June 28 where a man jumped into the bed of a pickup truck and allegedly punched two passengers with brass knuckles. Cops charged the suspect with assault with a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, and various probation violations, City News reported.

Do you think that the suspect in the alleged Arkansas brass knuckles knockout should be tried in court as an adult?
