Margot Robbie Still Lives With Four Housemates, Admits She’s Cheap

Margot Robbie is one of the most popular actresses currently working in Hollywood. Robbie’s performance in The Wolf Of Wall Street in 2013 launched her career in the U.S., which she’s since followed with performances in Z For Zachariah, Focus, Suite Francaise, The Big Short, and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

Margot Robbie’s stock is set to rise even further over the next few weeks, with the release of The Legend Of Tarzan and Suicide Squad, both of which are expected to gross hundreds of millions of dollars, while in the latter she’ll be playing Harley Quinn, one of the most iconic comic book characters in the history of the medium.

Because of her burgeoning success, all of which has come before her 26th birthday, which actually just so happens to be on Saturday, July 2, means that Margot Robbie has pocketed quite a hefty amount of pennies over the last few years. In fact, it’s actually been speculated that she has a net worth of over $10.75 million.

But rather than splashing her cash frivolously and buying mansions for everyone she knows, Margot Robbie has admitted that she actually doesn’t like to spend that much money, which is why she still shares a flat with four other roommates, as well as with her boyfriend, Tom Ackerley, who works as an assistant director.

Margot Robbie currently lives in a flat in London’s Clapham alongside her pals and beau and made this admission during her interview with news.com.au ahead of the release of The Legend Of Tarzan, which has just hit cinemas across the United States this weekend.

“I don’t spend much money at all. It actually makes me really anxious, just the idea of it. It seems crazy to spend a huge amount of money on things you don’t need. I’m pretty frugal,” Robbie explained.

“I’ve never spent money on staying anywhere beautiful and I’ve never paid a lot in rent,” she explained. “I’ve saved my money from my time on Neighbours (playing Donna Freedman from 2008 to 2011) and spent it on moving to America, acting classes, and dialect coaches.”

Speaking about her current living situation, Margot Robbie admitted that she and her boyfriend had actually recently downsized, admitting that she previously shared her home with seven other roommates rather than just four.

“Actually we’ve downsized,” Margot Robbie explained. “Until recently we were living with seven others. I like living with lots of people. It reminds me of the house I grew up in.”

Speaking about her current living situation, Margot Robbie explained the living arrangements.

“Well, I’m not super domestic but everyone chips in and does the dishes; the boys do the bins because that’s a boy job. It’s definitely not glamorous. It’s funny. I always think I want privacy because I’m never actually on my own, ever. But then when I am I hate it. After five minutes I find people to hang out with.”

It doesn’t sound as though Margot Robbie is ready to settle down and start a family with Tom Ackerley, who she met on the set of Suite Francaise back in 2014, just yet though.

“Well, you’d have to be in one place and I’m never in one place,” Robbie explained. “I can’t even have a pet because I keep moving around too much. So family is definitely going to have to wait for now.”
