Britney Spears Introduces New ‘Twister Dance’ Game, Modernizes A Classic

Gaming company Hasbro and pop superstar Britney Spears have teamed up to bring the popular game Twister into the 21st century. The new game, titled Twister Dance, features a sphere-shaped console, LED lights, and a cable to connect your music player.

Instead of the traditional colored map, the program now features movable colored spots that sync to music. Players simply match their dance steps to the corresponding flashing lights.

The Twister Dance game will debut with five songs including a Britney Spears remix of Till the World Ends. To celebrate the release of the game, a music video for the remixed song will debut on September 9.

Speaking about the game, Britney Spears said in a statement:

“I think kids will love rocking the spots and dancing to the music as much as my boys and I do — it’s a lot of fun.”

Several other songs on the game including Willow Smith’s Whip My Hair and Kesha’s We R Who We R.

If you would prefer to try out different songs, the game can connect to any audio device and then detects beats per minute and synchronizes those dance moves with placements of the feet.

This is hardly the first time a Twister game has forgone the traditional mat; the game Twister Moves called out moves via CD, and other games have also ditched the mat.
