Gretchen Rossi Mentioned In Shocking Email: Did Bravo Lie About Her Storyline?

Gretchen Rossi decided that she wanted to return to The Real Housewives of Orange County for an uncensored episode that discussed a very controversial season of the show. During the season, Gretchen decided to open up about her engagement to Slade Smiley. She wanted to propose to him because she felt the time was right, and she didn’t invite any of her Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars to the event. Tamra Judge accused Rossi of faking the proposal to keep her role on the show, and now, Slade’s mother has a few things to say about it.

According to a new Radar Online report, Gretchen Rossi didn’t fake the proposal for the show if you ask Slade’s mom, Elizabeth Larson-Smiley. After watching the uncensored episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Smiley’s mother was furious and decided to send an email to the Bravo production team to share her frustrations.

“I am the mother-in-Law (to be) of Gretchen Rossi, and mother of Slade Smiley. I am sending you this email directly and have every intention of copying it to all of the media outlets that have posted negative articles about the kid’s engagement,” Slade’s mother wrote in support of Gretchen Rossi after watching the episode and hearing the Real Housewives of Orange County stars’ comments about the proposal.

Of course, Elizabeth did make an appearance on a show when Slade was considering popping the question to Gretchen. He really wanted to ask his mother for advice, and at the time, she told him it wasn’t a good idea. Gretchen Rossi had been very vocal about not getting married until he had settled his debt. But she claims that she watched the show and saw nothing but a happy couple.

“I am an avid viewer of Bravo and not naive to the fact that the shows are edited for dramatic entertainment purposes; but this time Bravo have gone too far. After watching the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 8 Uncensored Special this past Monday night, you should be ashamed of yourself for the deceptive way you portrayed Gretchen & Slade and their beautiful engagement,” read the email in Gretchen Rossi’s defense.

Many of Rossi’s co-stars claimed that she totally staged the engagement party to keep her role on the show, and she didn’t invite any of her Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars to the event. But that doesn’t mean that no one was there. In fact, Slade’s mother said that family and friends were at the event.

“More than 35 of their closest friends and family who attended the engagement party would happily debunk your claim about them just waiting for a wedding special [to film it],” Gretchen’s future mother-in-law wrote about the episode.

After the episode aired, Gretchen Rossi announced that she had kept emails from producers about the show and she would release them once her lawyer allowed her to do so. And it sounds like both Slade and his mother have read all of the emails. And she wants producers to know that they were wrong in making Rossi look like the bad person.

“I am also personally aware and have seen the emails from your producers who did not want the other housewives attending the engagement party because it did not match with ‘the storyline.’ Why would your team lie and say otherwise?” Rossi’s mother-in-law wrote about the emails that Gretchen Rossi has been saving since she was on the show.

It is definitely interesting that Rossi’s mother-in-law is getting involved in all of this drama, especially since this is something that has haunted Rossi for quite some time. She just wants to clear her name and get the truth out.
