Gwen Stefani Looks Relieved To Be Back With Blake Shelton After Joining Him In Mourning Christina Grimmie

Gwen Stefani wasn’t a coach when Christina Grimmie competed on The Voice, but the death of the Season 6 competitor has still had a huge impact on her. Blake Shelton was a coach on The Voice during Christina’s time on the show, but Gwen seemingly wasn’t around to comfort him when he first heard the news of the 22-year-old singer’s passing. Gwen and Blake were recently reunited, and they seem relieved to be back together after being forced to mourn apart.

As Just Jared reports, Gwen Stefani followed Blake Shelton’s lead by tweeting her condolences to Christina Grimmie’s family.

“I am so shaken by what happened to @TheRealGrimmie sending prayers of Peace to her family gx,” Gwen wrote.

On Friday night, Blake desperately started asking his Twitter followers if there was any truth to the reports that Christina Grimmie had been shot during a meet-and-greet with fans. After his fans informed him that the third-place Voice finisher was in critical condition, Blake Shelton tweeted that he was praying for her and that he couldn’t believe what he was reading online. Sadly, it was later reported that Grimmie did not survive her gunshot wounds. The gunman who inflicted those wounds, Kevin James Loibl, took his own life after murdering the young singer.

“I’m stunned and disgusted and heartbroken that we lost that sweet little girl… Keeping @TheRealGrimmie family in my heart and mind,” Blake tweeted after learning of Christina’s passing.

According to EXTRA, Gwen Stefani wasn’t with Blake Shelton when he heard about Christina Grimmie’s death because she has been busy rehearsing for her This Is What the Truth Feels Like Tour, which kicks off on July 17. Meanwhile, Blake has been in Nashville ever since the June 6 unveiling of his Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit, Blake Shelton: Based on a True Story. He and the Oak Ridge Boys performed “Doing It to Country Songs” at the CMT Music Awards on June 8, and Blake treated the CMA Fest crowd to a few of his tunes during his June 11 concert at Nissan Stadium.

Because of their busy schedules, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were forced to spend almost a week apart. However, it seems as though they’ve been reunited. On June 12, a fan shared a snapshot of the couple hanging out in North Hollywood.

As you can see, Gwen looks relieved to be back with her cowboy beau. Being with Gwen has also put a big smile on Blake’s face, but he does appear to be just a tad tired after enduring a hectic week that ended with a terrible tragedy.

While Blake was gone, Gwen Stefani decided to spend some quality time with her loved ones. According to the Daily Mail, she helped her parents celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday. Dennis Stefani and Patti Flynn marked the milestone at Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, where they humored their daughter by posing for a few of her Snapchat photos.

The couple and their guests munched on a gorgeous, gold-trimmed wedding anniversary cake, and Gwen’s sons, 10-year-old Kingston, seen-year-old Zuma, and two-year-old Apollo, had a blast riding rides with their mom.

According to Gwen Stefani, her parents’ lengthy, happy union is the reason she’s always longed for the “Simple Kind of Life” that she describes in her song about being a mother and a wife. Gwen’s parents have been together since high school and are still in love, and it pains Gwen that she hasn’t enjoyed the same happiness and stability. During an interview with PrideSource, Gwen admitted that her parents’ great relationship made it harder for her to deal with her divorce from Gavin Rossdale.

“My whole life all I wanted to do was be a mother and a wife, and I had the dream of having this family because that’s what I had,” Gwen said. “I have parents who’ve been married since high school, who are in love, and they’re still in love and having their big wedding anniversary. I had a perfect example, so it’s super tragic for me.”

Luckily, the princess of the Tragic Kingdom didn’t have to fell down for long; Blake Shelton came along and gave her a shoulder to cry on, and now Gwen and her knight in shining cowboy boots are so happy that they’re plagued by nonstop rumors that they’re getting married and having a baby. However, as E! News reports, Gwen Stefani has denied that she and Blake have decided to get hitched and start a family.

Christina Grimmie’s untimely death may make Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton appreciate one another more than ever. They’re also performers, and it was reminder that all it takes is one crazed fan to take one of them away from the other forever.
