Emily Blunt And John Krasinski’s Baby Coming ‘Soonish’

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are about to welcome their newest addition! According to E! who spoke with John Krasinski at the L.A. Film Festival’s screening of his film The Hollars, Krasinski said that the new baby is coming “soonish.”

When asked about where Emily Blunt was, seeing as she was missing for the director’s big night, Krasinski explained.

“She’s going to come to some of the other events. We’re very excited.” Of the new baby, he said Blunt is due “soonish.”

Of his new film The Hollars, he had a lot of juggling to do, as the film’s star, producer, and director. At home, he was a new father, which he said added to the whole experience of shooting the film.

“I had just had my daughter just before we started shooting the movie, so I think this idea of fatherhood became a whole lot more real than even when I read the script and fell in love with the script.”

He expressed a similar sentiment to Us Weekly while at Sundance.

“I had my daughter [and there was this] existential crack that happens to everybody in a different way — it’s a mirror that you hold up to yourself and who you are and who you want to be. I think those are amazing, challenging moments. That you all of a sudden relate to your parents more, you relate to my brothers more, you relate to your friends more.”

Aside from being pregnant, Emily Blunt is incredibly busy. It’s been announced that she’s expecting to star in the Mary Poppins reboot as Mary Poppins, opposite Lin-Manuel Miranda, and she has The Girl On The Train to promote in the coming months, too.

That said, Blunt herself forgets that she’s pregnant thanks to her daughter Hazel. Back in March, the actress opened up to C magazine about the difference between the two pregnancies.

“The first pregnancy is the most self-indulgent thing in the world because you get massages and prenatal yoga and hypnotherapy CDs. During this one I forget that I’m even pregnant. I’m hoisting my 2-year-old around!”

Of juggling her responsibilities, Blunt said that a lot of it has to do with being a mother.

“It’s quite a juggle with children, especially young children who are now able to vocalize, ‘please don’t go.’ I don’t want to feel torn.”

That said, her schedule doesn’t always align up perfectly. Blunt realized she was pregnant while filming the intense thriller The Girl On The Train, which she admits was physically taxing to begin with.

“It was actually more physical than I realized, which worried me a little, but I wasn’t telling anyone until a little later on,. I told a couple of people like [co-star] Justin Theroux pretty early because he and I were doing some of the physical stuff together. He’s my friend, and I think he knew anyway—you know how friends just have a feeling.”

As for Hazel, Krasinski told Ellen DeGeneres of their 2-year-old.

“She is talking. She is talking a lot. She is starting to do little bits. It’s hilarious.[Instead of saying] ‘Where’s Daddy?’ she asks, ‘Where is that Daddy?'”

Given that her father is American and her mother is British, John said that Hazel does slip back and forth in between a British and an American accent. “She says, ‘Wuter.’ Just wait till she gets to kindergarten when people go, ‘What’s that accent?’ And she’ll go, ‘Water! Water!'”
