Was Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris’ breakup prompted by her Met Gala dance with Tom Hiddleston?

According to a new report, the DJ “wasn’t happy” about his then-girlfriend’s flirty behavior at the event, and now, sources are wondering if his ill feelings about the dance may have led him to break up with Taylor Swift.

“There have been some issues, they’re like any couple they’ve had their disagreements,” a source told Hollywood Life on June 1.

“One thing Calvin wasn’t happy about was that video that came out of [Taylor Swift] dancing with Tom at the Met Ball,” the source continued. “What guy wants to see a video of his girl getting that close to a guy like Tom?”

Hiddleston, 35, is currently rumored to be in talks to become the next James Bond and has been linked to a number of gorgeous actresses, including Elizabeth Olsen, Jessica Chastain, and Kat Dennings. He was also linked to Taylor Swift after they were seen dancing at the Met Gala, although no one thought much of their rumored romance.

“It’s not like they broke up over that but it proves they did have their fights,” the source explained of Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris. “Things weren’t always perfect, but still things did seem to be on track for them, this has shocked a lot of people not just [Taylor Swift].”

After Taylor Swift’s dance with Hiddleston went viral after the fashion event, Hiddleston spoke out about his interaction with the pop singer.

“I love dancing, who doesn’t?” Hiddleston told the Press Association, via Entertainment Tonight, during an interview after his dance with Taylor Swift. “It’s a weird one (that it went viral). I haven’t actually danced for a long time, but I happened to be dancing at the Met Gala, because it was a party.”

As for how his dance with Taylor Swift came about, Hiddleston explained, “I was on a table with Taylor Swift and The Weeknd was playing and she said, ‘The thing about these parties is nobody gets up to dance.’ She, as a musician, was like, ‘We’ve got to dance for The Weeknd!’ so we got up and danced.”

Just weeks ago, Gossip Cop was forced to shut down rumors of a romance after a report claimed Taylor Swift was preparing to dump Harris after just over a year of dating in lieu of a relationship with Hiddleston.

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris began dating in early 2015 after being introduced by their mutual friend Ellie Goulding at the 2015 Brit Awards.

“I did play matchmaker, that’s true,” Goulding explained to the Sun in June of last year. “Calvin is a really great mate and he’s so fantastic, and Taylor is such a cool person who I love. I thought, ‘They’re both really awesome and both really tall, they’ll be brilliant together.'”

Oddly, just hours before news broke of Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris’ split, a Life & Style report claimed the pair was planning to get married this summer.

“[Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris] want to have a three-day-long, Coachella-style part for all their friends and family from all over the world,” said the magazine’s alleged source. “There will be celebrity performers, fireworks and a whole bunch of surprises.”

Needless to say, Gossip Cop has since confirmed the Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris wedding report was far from the truth.
