Blac Chyna Power Trip Is Working: The Game Of Becoming A Kardashian

It is only recently, reports Radar Online, that Kim, Khloé, Kris, and the rest of the Kardashian women have softened their previously disapproving attitudes toward Blac Chyna, who is dating Rob Kardashian. Blac Chyna, who is changing her name to Angela Kardashian, has jumped aboard the Kardashian fame train so eagerly that it has led some to question whether she is dating Rob because of genuine love or just because Chyna wants to make herself a superstar.

The article points out that the first major sign that Blac Chyna wants to use the Kardashian name for personal career growth came in early May, when Chyna filed for an official name change to “Angela Kardashian.” We are not talking about a simple name change, though, that is typical of a woman who is getting married. No, Blac Chyna is actually copyrighting the name “Angela Kardashian” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, as a company might do with a brand name or slogan.

With the copyright filing, Chyna has basically made it clear that she sees her “Kardashian” label as a definite money-making tool, and she reportedly wants to milk it for all it’s worth.

Even more recently, Chyna has begun appearing more frequently on episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

But, Blac is not taking the slow and timid route of mixing herself into the famous family, as one might expect. Instead, an insider source has told Radar, Chyna has been speaking her mind, taking control, and standing up to even the head of the household, Kris Jenner, during the show.

“She’s not afraid of Kris at all. She stands up for herself and Rob.”

Blac Chyna went so far that Kris actually banned her from appearing on the show at one point; although, as the Inquisitr reported on Wednesday, Jenner rescinded her refusal to let Chyna on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in exchange for being included in the lucrative sale of her baby pictures. Even now, though, Kris remains wary of Blac Chyna, whom she sees is stepping out of line and trying to steal too much of the spotlight for herself.

“Kris will carefully control Chyna’s participation. She can’t just do or say whatever she wants,” an insider explains.

“They refuse to let her profit off their family’s hard-earned fame.”

When Jenner had forbidden Chyna to appear on the show in the first place, she had also nixed the idea of a potential Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna spin-off TV show. That is another reservation she has changed her mind about, though, as countless sources across the Internet confirmed yesterday that Kris and Blac will be co-producing just such a show for E!

“Very few love stories have created as much pop culture buzz as Rob and Chyna’s, and we are thrilled to see Rob in such a happy place,” said E! exec Jeff Olde, in a statement released the same day.

Many people following the romance between Black Chyna and Rob Kardashian are beginning to wonder if she sees the relationship in the same way as Olde: an opportunity to capture viewers and generate a huge amount of pop culture media buzz.

After all, Kim Kardashian has shown the world that an attractive woman can get famous just by associating with the right people and trying to garner as much media attention as possible. Showing off voluptuous bodily curves doesn’t seem to hurt, either, and it’s something with which former stripper Blac Chyna has no problem.

What do you think? Is Blac Chyna (or, maybe we should get used to calling her Angela Kardashian?) really in love with Rob, or is she using him as a ticket to fame?
