Amber Heard’s 911 Call: Police Officers Back Johnny Depp’s Claims That Amber Was Not Assaulted

Amber Heard called 911 on May 21, claiming that Johnny Depp assaulted her. She then subsequently filed for a restraining order, filed for divorce, and has requested marital support from Johnny Depp.

During this contentious divorce, both camps have strong opinions on the truth of the incident preceding Amber’s 911 call. Friends of Johnny Depp claim that Amber Heard is manipulating him, that the bruise on her face mysteriously appeared on Friday at her court hearing. Witnesses say it was not there before she left the marital home.

The couple has been married 15 months. Those in Johnny Depp’s camp claim that she is seeking money and she can get more of it if he is found guilty of domestic violence. They claim that Amber’s 911 call was a ruse to blackmail Johnny Depp. Depp’s ex-wife, Vanessa Paradis, says that it is out of character for Depp to be violent, and many seem to agree.

Officers who responded to Amber’s 911 call on May 21 claim that there were no marks on Amber at that time, and the apartment was not in any sort of disarray.

Those in Camp Amber Heard claim that there were visible marks on her face and that the officers are lying to protect Johnny Depp. According to TMZ, LAPD claims that the two officers who responded to Amber Heard’s 911 call did look for injuries and found none.

Amber claims that Depp threw an iPhone at her face, pulled her hair, hit her, and grabbed her face. Police officers responding to Amber Heard’s 911 call said the apartment showed no signs of violence. Amber defended that by saying she met them in an adjoining apartment, not where the altercation occurred.

Following a wave of support for Johnny Depp, Heard’s legal team released a statement accusing Camp Depp of “miscasting the victim as the villain.”

Amber Heard’s attorneys, Samantha Spector and Joseph Koenig, said that their client “can no longer endure the relentless attacks and outright lies launched against her character in the Court of Public Opinion.”

On the other side, Johnny Depp’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, claims that Heard is attempting to “to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.”

Comedian Doug Stanhope, a friend of Johnny Depp’s, published an open letter in The Wrap, claiming that he had watched Amber Heard “manipulate and f— with [Depp] for years…. And we didn’t say s—. Because he’s Johnny Depp. And we didn’t want to be thrown out of the circle for saying that The Emperor was being Stripped of His Clothes.”

Lawyers of Amber Heard say she “suffered through years of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of Johnny,” but did not provide a statement to authorities earlier, including on the evening of “the tragic events of May 21”. According to Vanity Fair, the night that Amber Heard called 911, Amber claims she kept silent “to protect her privacy and Johnny’s career.”

“As the result of Amber’s decision to decline giving an initial statement to the LAPD, her silence has been used against her by Johnny’s team,” Heard’s lawyer claim. They said that Amber Heard has given an official statement to the L.A.P.D. to “set the record straight as to the true facts.”

“In reality, Amber acted no differently than many victims of domestic violence, who think first of the harm that might come to the abuser, rather than the abuse they have already suffered,” say Spector and Koenig.

“From the beginning it has been Amber’s desire to keep this matter as private as possible, even though LAPD officers responded to a 911 call made by a third-party,” Spector and Koenig allege.

“We took the high road,” Heard’s legal counsel alleges. “Unfortunately, Johnny’s team immediately went to the press and began viciously attacking Amber’s character. Amber is simply a victim of domestic violence, and none of her actions are motivated by money. Amber is a brave and financially independent woman who is showing the courage of her convictions by doing the right thing against Johnny’s relentless army of lawyers and surrogates…. Amber is the victim. Amber is a hero.”

Johnny Depp is out of the country, according to his lawyer. Wasser countered the restraining order with, “Johnny is currently out of the country for work. He is unable to attend the hearing on this matter and has not heard Amber’s specific allegations against him. He nonetheless has every intention of staying away from Amber.”

There are no statements available from the officers who responded to Amber Heard’s 911 call, but they may be called as witnesses to the court to support Johnny Depp’s claims that he did not assault Amber.
