WWE Rumors: Updated And Rumored Card For ‘Money In The Bank’ – Two Confirmed And AJ Styles Vs. John Cena Is Coming

Money in the Bank is just under three weeks away, and WWE only has two confirmed matches for the card. Last night on Monday Night Raw, a number of other matches were teased, and rumors have started to fly, but one, in particular, has set the wrestling world on fire. When AJ Styles and John Cena stood in the ring together, everyone thought it was a dream team, but it ended up turning into a possible fantasy match come true.

One of the biggest matches on the Money in the Bank card is the WWE World Heavyweight Title match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. After being out since November due to injury, Rollins’ return has generated a lot of excitement, and fans really want to see him take down “The Roman Empire” and win the belt.

Yes, that match is set to lead the card, but fans are more excited about a possible match that has not yet been confirmed. Actually, it hasn’t even been speculated by those on WWE television, but it was surely hinted at on last night’s Monday Night Raw as recapped by the official WWE website.

AJ Styles appeared to have separated himself from The Club as he looked to make his way on his own without their backing. Last night, he was confronted by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and it seemed as if it would be Styles and the returning John Cena joining forces to take them on.

Well, that actually led to the heel turn of AJ Styles as he totally decimated Cena in the middle of the ring and rejoined with his brothers in The Club.

After that scene last night, it is expected that Styles vs. Cena is going to be added to the card for Money in the Bank. It’s only rumored at this time, but WWE likely wouldn’t get this feud started without having a big match at the pay-per-view in a few weeks.

As for the other members of The Club, they finally decided to make their presence fully known in the tag team division. In the opening match, The Vaudevillains were taking on The New Day, but the match ended quickly when Anderson and Gallows interfered and destroyed the WWE Tag Team Champions.

That could end up leading to a match for the titles at Money in the Bank.

Another match that was set up last night on Raw was a women’s tag team bout that will likely see Charlotte and Dana Brooke taking on Natalya and her new partner, Becky Lynch.

Natalya had been outnumbered by Charlotte and Dana over the course of the past couple of weeks, but now she has some back-up. WWE is certainly hinting a tag team match that could end up taking place at Money in the Bank.

The only other confirmed match for the PPV is the ladder match, but only six participants have been named for it as of now. PW Mania is reporting that the seventh person was to be named on Raw, but WWE pushed it back due to the strong competition in the ratings from the NBA playoffs.

Confirmed matches for Money in the Bank.

  • WWE World Heavyweight Title: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins
  • MITB Ladder Match: Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Sami Zayn vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho vs.???

Rumored matches for Money in the Bank.

  • John Cena vs. AJ Styles
  • WWE Tag Team Titles: The New Day (c) vs. The Club (Anderson & Gallows)
  • United States Title: Rusev (c) vs. Titus O’Neill
  • Charlotte & Dana Brooke vs. Natalya & Becky Lynch

So far, it seems as if WWE is building a very solid card for Money in the Bank, but fans really have their focus on one match more than any others. If WWE pulls the trigger on Styles vs. Cena now, it’s going to pump up the excitement for the fans, and it could mean a lot bigger audience for the event.

WWE is really looking to keep the long summer months exciting and making events like Money in the Bank more than just filler between WrestleMania and SummerSlam. So far, WWE is doing a good job of that with the main event and ladder match, but the rumored bouts are bringing a lot more attention. Having John Cena vs. AJ Styles is something that would easily tempt more people than usual to tune in for Money in the Bank.
