Andy Cohen Dishes About Bethenny Frankel’s Producer Rumors After ‘RHONY’ Fan Backlash

Not many Bravo housewives are as big of a legend (in their own minds) as Bethenny Frankel. She actually believes that she knows everything, and cannot wait to throw her two cents into every single conversation. Last week, social media speculated that Frankel received a promotion that allowed her to produce, edit, and control which housewife she interacts with on the show.

The fans became unglued and couldn’t believe that Bravo would give her that power. As it is, Bethenny is pretty sure of herself. She comes across as a rude, arrogant, and many RHONY viewers question her ability to parent her child. Imagine the fan backlash when the viewers discovered that Frankel was a producer of the show.

Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City host, Andy Cohen, was forced into addressing the rumors about Bethenny’s [alleged] promotion. Andy revealed that Frankel did not receive an official promotion, and only was told that to stroke her ego. He went on to state that all the women receive the edit for the show on the same day, so Frankel does not get any special treatment. He denied that Bravo has encouraged Bethenny to bully the cast in any way, shape or form.

The RHONY viewers have voiced their hatred for Bethenny and her attitude towards most of the cast. All About The Tea has showcased her comments over the past few weeks, and it looks like Frankel enjoys getting a rise out of her fellow cast members and her followers on social media.

Even though Andy touted that she doesn’t have any producer rights on the show, fans suspect she is an “uncredited producer,” which by all accounts would be a title that would appeal to her ego. This type of title would give her a “license” to bully and harass the rest of the cast.

It seems much more likely that Bethenny was given a pass to promote her business, Skinnygirl, than it is that she wants to bully the cast. It is entirely possible that Bravo told her to create storylines by causing conflict with certain cast members. It doesn’t seem likely that she has any real “pull” with the network.

Think back the last couple episodes you’ve seen her on RHONY. Now, when was the last time someone really challenged her and stood their ground, and they lived to tell their story? John Mahdessian tried to go against her and look how that turned out. Bethenny did everything she could to make him seem like a fool that was jealous of her success with Skinnygirl.

In a later tweet, Andy Choen addressed the rumors head-on and stated that Frankel has no producer powers, blaming an overzealous blogger for reporting untrue rumors. The fans were not pleased. They responded by telling him that whether or not he wants to admit it or not, it is evident that Frankel has a pull on the network. The other cast members are terrified of her, and not because she is scary exactly. It’s like they know if Bethenny is unhappy with you, it could affect their paycheck.

Andy Cohen says that Bethenny Frankel has no pull about her editing or which housewife she appears with on the air. He added she never received a promotion; it was a nasty rumor. It looks like we will have to wait to see what happens next, and see if Frankel herself will admit that Bravo offered her a producer job title.
