Jason Derulo And Daphne Joy Split: What Happened? [Report]
Ladies will be happy to hear that Jason Derulo is back on the market again. The singer and his girlfriend, Daphne Joy, have split after six months of dating.
Jason Derulo’s rep has confirmed the news to People magazine on Tuesday, May 24. Derulo, 26, previously spoke to the outlet about his long-distance relationship with Joy, 29.
“It’s tough at times because I’m always on the road, but with modeling she’s more flexible than I am so she’ll come to some of my shows. She has an understated personality. I love that about her.”
The couple first stepped out together in November of last year. Jason and Daphne looked very beautiful and happy with each other when they attended the 2016 People’s Choice Awards back in January.
The “Want to Want Me” singer then took to Instagram to share a series of photos from their trip, one of which he captioned, “Great Decisions.” The photo below shows Jason and Joy holding hands as they looked lovingly into each other’s eyes.
Daphne Joy, who is a model, already has a 3-year-old son, Sire Jackson, who she shares with rapper 50 Cent. Some fans have been wondering if the rapper is to blame for her split with Derulo. An insider told TMZ that Joy was the one who called off their relationship, but neither party has hard feelings for each other. It doesn’t look like 50 Cent is the reason behind their split.
This was Jason Derulo’s first high-profile relationship since his split from American Idol alum Jordin Sparks, 26, in 2014 after three years of dating. He previously told Billboard magazine that it would be “a miracle” if he got into another relationship again.
“I do get tired of playing nice. Especially when people think I did something wrong, or that she broke up with me. But it’s so behind me.”
But it’s back to work for Derulo. The singer and dancer looked a little solemn when he arrived in Manila alongside Redfoo for their scheduled May 27 concert, which is part of his 2016 world tour. He made his entrance to the Philippines in a black-and-white striped hooded sweatshirt. Derulo kept his face hidden behind a pair of dark tinted gold-framed sunglasses.
Jason was eventually all smiles once he touched down. He even removed his hood and glasses when he spoke with people and stopped for photos with fans. Check out the recent photos of Jason in the tweet below.

The singer also posed in a new photo shoot for Vulkan Magazine, where he talked about his provocative “Naked” music video. Despite his personal life, Derulo is not one to shy away from his playboy persona. After all, he’s known for his sexy songs like “Talk Dirty” and “Wiggle.”

When it came to that video, he admits that he was completely naked in true Jason Derulo fashion.
“Absolutely I was naked! I made it happen. I wanted it to be authentic; I wanted it to be something that signified the song. It wasn’t about chains or jewelry or anything, it was literally about me, the content and what I was [singing] about. That song is more than just being unclothed, naked meaning with nothing else that I can hide behind; It’s literally just me.”
