Gigi Hadid Addresses Internet Trolls, Zayn Malik Split Rumors

Gigi Hadid’s world has been rocked in just a little over the span of a week. The model has been the target of death threats by an unidentified man on Twitter. Additionally, rumors have been swirling that Gigi has split from her boyfriend, Zayn Malik.

Gigi Hadid is young, gorgeous, and fabulous. It’s hard for a 21-year-old such as her to have your life out in the public eye. In a new interview, Hadid is addressing her social media fame and the internet trolls that come with it.

Gigi was first known as Cody Simpson’s girlfriend at the time of their relationship. Then she made her mark in the fashion world alongside BFF Kendall Jenner. It also helped that both women come from rich and famous reality star backgrounds. Gigi’s mom, Yolanda Hadid, is the star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Let’s also not forget that she made a cameo in Taylor Swift’s star-studded “Bad Blood” music video.

In an interview with Love magazine, Gigi revealed that it’s Kendall – not Taylor – who helps her battle the online trolls.

“We cope with trolls by having each other. It’s the same thing as dating someone within the industry rather than out of the industry. You only understand it when you’re literally experiencing it. When people are really harsh? I live with my best friend from high school but usually I’m going to call Kendall because Kendall’s the one who will always be like, ‘You don’t need that, just let it go’. And I know that if it’s working for her then it can work for me.”

At the time of her interview, Hadid just racked up over 10 million followers on Instagram. Now she’s almost double that and on her way to 18 million followers, according to Harper’s Bazaar. Hadid addressed her Instagram fame and how she’s not letting some online trolls slow her down.

“I see the numbers going up but really I can’t picture 10 million people. I genuinely don’t know how many people that looks like. What’s weird is when I walk into, let’s say a stadium or a concert and there are maybe 13,000 people and I’m looking up like oh my God, that’s a lot of people, that’s 13,000 people. I can’t actually comprehend what that means, which is probably a good thing because if I could comprehend 10 million then it might be really scary.”

When it came to appearing in the “Bad Blood” music video, she revealed that Taylor was the one who reached out to her via text message. Of course, Gigi said yes, and the rest is pop culture history. Fortunately, Taylor’s model squad were all available in the same place, on the same day, which is rare for these starlets with their hectic schedules.

Meanwhile, rumors have been swirling that Gigi Hadid has ended her romance with Zayn Malik. The two haven’t been photographed together since the 2016 Met Gala, making fans wonder if they have called it quits. In addition, a report in Life & Style claimed that Hadid and Malik quietly split two weeks ago. Then photos surfaced of Malik on a hike with a mystery blonde in Malibu set the split rumors on fire.

The “Pillowtalk” singer was photographed wearing mismatched boots as he and his female friend carried bottles of cider while they were joined by two other friends from his management team, who were carrying beers. Well, Gigi has put an end to those pesky split rumors because she admitted that she misses her boyfriend.

After she was spotted running errands in New York City on Monday, she took to Instagram to share a cute photo of her and Zayn peeking out from underneath the covers.

“missing you (SIC),” Gigi captioned their adorable photo.

It’s obvious that it’s the distance that’s keeping these two apart at the moment.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik started dating shortly after her split from Joe Jonas in early November 2015. The pair was first linked after they were spotted together at an American Music Awards after-party later that month.
