Lily-Rose Depp New Face Of Chanel, Plus, A Look At Her Style

While Lily-Rose Depp’s father, Johnny Depp, is dealing with the passing of his mother and sudden divorce from his wife Amber Rose, the 16-year-old is celebrating some exciting news, for once.

The aspiring model has been announced as the fresh new face for Chanel No. 5 L’Eau. On Monday, May 23, Chanel named Lily-Rose Depp as the face of their advertising campaign for their new fragrance, which was created by the brand’s in-house performer Olivier Polge, according to WWD. Both the perfume and the ad campaign will launch in the fall.

Lily-Rose Depp has already climbed the ranks of modeling by being the face of Chanel’s Pearl eyewear collection that was launched in September 2015. Additionally, Depp is also taking over the acting world by starring in three new films: Yoga Hosers alongside her famous father, Planetarium, and The Dancer. Depp made her acting debut in the 2014 film Tusk.

She made her foray into her modeling by appearing on the spring 2016 issue of Love magazine alongside Stella Maxwell. Lily and Stella’s cozy cover sparked the dating rumors around the time. Some fans took to social media to wonder if Stella, who previously dated Miley Cyrus, was dating the model despite their obvious age difference. That was also around the time that Lily came out as sexually fluid.

Lily-Rose Depp has also been making a name for herself with her carefree and laid-back street style. The teenager stole the spotlight at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival when she wore a hoodie and shorts. But it wasn’t any old hoodie and shorts. Lily-Rose wore a red and blue Chanel bouclé knit hoodie and shorts with a pair of cherry red stilettos. She completed her simple look with red nail polish, minimal makeup, and waves styled in her hair.

Then she wowed the crowd in a stunning gown at the event. Femail (via the Daily Mail) broke down four of Depp’s red carpet looks at the Cannes Film Festival. For her first look, Depp wore an off-the-shoulder black gown with mesh paneling and gold beading when she made an appearance for her new film The Dancer last Friday night. The dress featured a white T-Shirt layered underneath on the runway, but Depp chose to bare her shoulders.

Then an event photo from Saturday showed Lily in an off-white Chanel Couture crop top blouse with blue printed denim jeans. Lily-Rose completed her sophisticated look with a gold heart-shaped bangle bracelet, simple hoop earrings, and purple suede low block heels. Then Lily was seen leaving a party in Cannes wearing a black and gold silk bomber jacket over a flirty white print ruffled dress.

She topped off her look with deep red lipstick and a pair of silver Chanel heels that retail for $1,100, according to the British tabloid. According to Vogue, Depp’s style has come a long way ever since she’s grown up in the public eye. Unlike most actresses her age, Depp doesn’t play by the rules and even has figured out her personal style at such a young age.

In an interview with W Magazine, Lily-Rose Depp explained her love and fascination with the Chanel brand. When she was just eight years old, she met Karl Lagerfeld with her mother Vanessa Paradis and father, Johnny Depp.

“I looked through all the Chanel shows. I picked a dress that Karl had paired with a little white t-shirt. I loved the armlets, I felt it was Cleopatra-esque.”

In her recent film, Planetarium, Depp will star opposite Natalie Portman as her sister. The French drama is set in the 1930s and revolves around their relationship with each other and the supernatural world.

“It was the first time I read a script in all French. But once I read the script and was enchanted with the story, it wasn’t that difficult for me.”
