‘Teen Mom 2’ Kailyn Lowry Talks Divorce: Was Jo Rivera Involved In Her Split From Javi Marroquin?

Teen Mom 2 Kailyn Lowry confirmed her divorce from Javi Marroquin on Tuesday, and while chatting about her split during an outing in her hometown, Lowry addressed allegations of an inappropriate relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Jo Rivera.

At the end of last month, after Kailyn Lowry attended the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles with Rivera and without her wedding ring, a report hit the web which claimed the exes had spent time together in Lowry’s hotel room after the show.

While Kailyn Lowry told In Touch Weekly that things between her and Marroquin were “good” as she walked the red carpet, an insider claimed there were unresolved feelings between her and Rivera.

“Jo even stayed in her hotel room until 3 a.m., talking. She’s jealous of his fiancée, Vee [Torres], and will always have a special place in her heart for him,” an insider told the magazine on April 21. “Kailyn has been telling friends that she and Jo could still get back together.”

In addition to claims of a possible relationship between Kailyn Lowry and Rivera, the magazine’s source also claimed Marroquin had been up to no good during his deployment.

“They were already having trouble, now Kailyn believes Javi cheated with a woman he’s been hanging out with,” the source explained. “It’s definitely over. It’s sad, but it looks like they could wind up in a nasty custody battle [over son Lincoln, 2].”

Kailyn Lowry’s husband was deployed earlier this year to Qatar, and isn’t expected to return home for a few more months.

Since weeks after Marroquin left town, rumors have been swirling in regard to the couple’s possible divorce, but because Kailyn Lowry remained silent for so long, many believed they had just hit a rough patch. Then, earlier this month, after Marroquin received a screenshot of his wife receiving a text message from another man, he went off on her on Twitter.

Before deleting his Twitter account all together, Marroquin claimed Kailyn Lowry’s mystery man was the same man he caught her texting behind his back last year. He also said he was heartbroken for his step-son, Isaac, 6, before going offline.

Days after Marroquin shared his Twitter allegations with fans, Kailyn Lowry confirmed they were getting divorced.

“So is it true? You guys really getting a divorce?” a photographer for the Daily Mail asked Kail Lowry on Tuesday, according to a report by Starcasm on May 24.

“Yes, it’s true,” she responded.

“Then, after the photographer mentioned rumors claiming she was ‘going out’ with her ex,” Kailyn Lowry said the reports were “not true. Definitely not.”

Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin tied the knot during a small courthouse wedding in September, 2012, before Marroquin left town for Air Force training. One year later, in September, 2013, the couple participated in a second wedding ceremony at an aquarium in Camden, New Jersey. Weeks later, Kailyn Lowry welcomed her second son, Lincoln, 2, the first for Marroquin.

As Kailyn Lowry and Marroquin prepare for divorce, and a possible custody battle over their toddler, they are also coming to blows on Teen Mom 2. During the latest episode, Marroquin was seen growing frustrated after feeling that his wife didn’t care how he was doing overseas.
