Rufus Wainwright, Jorn Weisbrodt Marry In New York

is reporting that musician Rufus Wainwright is officially a married man.

According to the magazine, Wainwright, 39, and his longtime partner, producer Jorn Weisbrodt, wed at their home in Montauk, New York on Thursday.

After the ceremony the star-studded guest-lineup — which included the likes of Alan Cumming, Julianne Moore, Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon, Lou Reed, Carrie Fisher, Mark Ronson and Natasha Lyonne, among others — enjoyed lobster rolls, clam chowder, steamers and cherry tomatoes during the reception, US Weekly notes.

According to OTR, Wainwright and Weisbrodt were married by their longtime friend, artist Justin Vivian Bond, who Tweeted her congratulations to the couple after the event:

Bond wrote:

“Blessings and congratulations to Rufus and Jorn. Gorgeous wedding and reception. I was so honored to officiate. #marriageequalitynow”

Pictures of the Weisbrodt-Wainwright wedding can be seen at the UK’s Daily Mail.

The couple, who got engaged in 2010, have an 18-month-old daughter, Viva Katherine Wainwright Cohen, in a parenting partnership with Leonard Cohen’s daughter, Lorca Cohen.

“It’s been an incredible experience,” Rufus told Paste Magazine earlier this year of his two-year relationship with Weisbrodt. “No, you know, there are ups and downs and it’s a real challenge to keep it afloat in such a wild, artistic environment. And of course, like anything, you look at the returns are far greater, and last longer.”

As for his musical career, Wainwright, who has released seven studio albums to date, told Rolling Stone he’s currently working with Tony-winning director Edna Walsh on a movie musical tentatively titled The Great White Way.

“It’s loosely based on my life – very, very loose,” the singer-songwriter told Rolling Stone. “Perhaps it’s more of a kind of mythic Rufus that he’s trying to create. It stems from some of my past glories and tragic endings, but it’s by no means a biography of me or anything.”
