Tom Cruise Rumor: Actor Moving To Florida After Selling $40M Beverly Hills Mansion?

Rumors now suggest that Tom Cruise is relocating to Florida after the sale of his $40 million Beverly Hills home.

As TMZ reported, Cruise sold his mansion to Leon Black, the owner of a private equity firm in New York. The home has seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a tennis court, large pool, a child’s play area, and two guest houses.

According to a source who spoke with People magazine, Tom Cruise intends to leave Los Angeles behind and move to Florida.

“Tom has long planned to leave L.A.,” the source says. “He doesn’t need to be there for work – he’s off doing movies all around the world. It’s not the center of his life anymore.”

It’s said in the report that Cruise will consider Clearwater, a Scientology headquarters in Florida.

Cruise sold a Hollywood Hills compound to Eva Longoria last September for $11.4 million.

A few other estates and large residences of Cruise’s are still on the market. His 298-acre ranch near Telluride, Colorado, is still on the market for $59 million.

In 2013, the Mission: Impossible star sold his 2,200-square-foot apartment in New York City’s East Village for $3 million.

In April, the Daily Mail reported Tom plans to move to a place near the Scientology community in England called Saint Hill Manor. It’s 100 acres and the former home of Scientology leader L. Ron Hubbard. Cruise is in the midst of selling several vast properties, including the English estate, Rede Place, that he lived in with Katie Holmes.

Another reason Cruise may want to relocate to England is to be closer to his daughter, Isabella. She lives in London with her husband, and they’re Scientology members.

Cruise has reportedly already been staying at the Saint Hill Manor while filming in the U.K., sources reveal.

“Tom is relocating to England and uses the Scientology manor as his base,” a source said. “It’s the highest recognition to live where L.Ron Hubbard did, and Miscavige clearly believes giving Tom [Cruise] this access will keep his faith in the Church for decades to come.”

The report also claims that Cruise is dipping into his “person vast fortune” to make it happen. The manor is located in East Grinstead, Sussex, and is a major landmark in the Church of Scientology. The actor decided to sell his own East Grinstead home after acting church leader, David Miscavige, gave him unlimited access to Hubbard’s former living space.

Sources reveal that Cruise and Miscavige together aim to make the U.K. headquarters a Scientology “superpower.”

“It’s worked a charm because Tom’s more dedicated to Scientology than ever before,” a source told the Daily Mail of Cruise’s motivation to buy Hubbard’s famous home and team up with Miscavige on the influence of the headquarters. “He’s investing a lot of his own money back into the U.K. Church and secretly the talk is how they want to be as influential as the Royal family. It might sound like a deluded dream but with bottomless cash and ongoing renovations they believe that, in time, Saint Hill Manor will overshadow Buckingham Palace.”

Whatever plans Cruise has to relocate to either the U.K. or Florida, he’s not sharing them. He’s selling a ton of real estate around the world that makes people wonder if he’s investing all of it into buying one major piece of property. As the source from People magazine states, Cruise films movies all over the world, and he’s rarely in L.A. now. Another source said that the actor finds Hollywood “too fake” for him.

Time will tell whether Tom Cruise is moving to the U.K. or Florida.
