…a half-consumed can of Diet Pepsi.

Fred Denegri and wife Amy were “grilling out” at their home in Ormond Beach, FL when Fred complained of a very, very bad taste in his drink. The couple poured the drink out onto a plate and Amy noticed something that looked “like spaghetti.” The suspicious something turned out to be a dead, decomposing mouse corpse. OMG, ew!

Pepsi responded to the claim and indicated that while formerly living creatures have been found in Pepsi before, they’d crawled into the beverages after consumers had opened them. But judging from the state of Mr. Mouse by the Denegri’s account, his demise was not exactly recent. Even looking at the absolutely horrifying picture above, it appears the mouse had begun the “to ashes” part of the post-mortem transition some time ago.

“It did smell rotten. My husband did want to know what was in there. He did not want to look at it. He was completely grossed out,” Amy said.

Pepsi plans to assist the FDA in their investigation of the incident. And sensibly, Fred hasn’t given up Diet Pepsi- he just pours in into a glass first.
