‘ARK: Survival Evolved’: More ‘The Center’ Xbox One Servers And Patch Inbound, PC Updated

ARK: Survival Evolved received The Center map for the Xbox One and PC this week, but not without a host of problems. A new PC patch was delivered to the open-world survival game Thursday morning while a console patch and loads of new servers are targeting a Friday release. Also, the reign of Compy terror may finally be ending.

The PC version of ARK: Survival Evolved is updated to version 241.2. This fixes some issues with The Center map (Guide), including structure placement, teleporting, collision issues, plus dino difficulty and spawns.

The dino difficulty and the spawn level and rate are very important when it comes to surviving on The Center as the max dinosaur level has been raised to 150 from 120 for the new map. The high level is staying the same, but the dinosaur spawns will now trend toward lower-level beasts than before, according to a Twitter post from Studio Wildcard Lead Designer Jeremy Stieglitz.

Details on the dinosaur spawn tweaks have not been shared. Presumably, this is to adjust the number of Gigas that were spawning on The Center. The official launch of the map greatly increased their presence over the original mod release.

While Gigas are dangerous, Compys will ruin a brand new ARK: Survival Evolved player’s experience quickly. This patch has reduced wild Compy HP and damage by 50 percent after even Stieglitz noted their overpowered and murdering ways.

These same changes are coming to the Xbox One version of ARK: Survival Evolved with the 735.0 release. The update has been sent to Microsoft for certification, and Studio Wildcard hopes to have it pass in time to release on Friday, May 20.

The release of this update will not only bring much-needed fixes, but the developers will add desperately needed new servers for The Center. Lots of new servers should solve the over-crowding problem. In fact, it could be as many as 200 new servers based on a Twitter comment from Studio Wildcard Co-Founder Susan Stieglitz.

The addition of new official servers will also add new game types for The Center. Hardcore, Extinction, and Primitive servers should be among the list of new servers available, per a Reddit post from Community Manager Jat Karunakaran. Those that live in the Oceanic regions will also be happy to note you will be receiving servers for The Center as well.
