‘DWTS’ Alan Bersten Jokes About His Awkward Response To Paige VanZant Relationship Question

Are they or aren’t they? On the latest episode of Dancing with the Stars that aired on Monday night, host Erin Andrews tried to get to the bottom of whether celebrity contestant Paige VanZant and troupe dancer Alan Bersten are doing more together than just dancing on the dance floor. After Paige, Alan and Paige’s pro partner, Mark Ballas, performed their trio Samba dance, Erin outright asked Alan, with Paige right next to him, what’s going on between him and Paige. Alan got visibly nervous and could hardly form a complete sentence, instead just muttering some incoherent words while everyone laughed at the awkwardness. Erin pointed out how shaky Alan was.

On Twitter, Alan poked fun at himself for his stuttering and nervousness in response to Erin’s question. He joked that he’s off to sign up for improvisational acting classes.

He also joked about how shaky he was after Erin asked him that question.

On Instagram, Alan wrote that he was clearly at a loss for words.

During the pre-recorded package played prior to their Samba, producers asked Paige and Alan about the speculation that they’re dating. They both burst out in nervous laughter.

After the show, Paige VanZant, in regards to the rumors she’s dating Alan Bersten, told Entertainment Tonight that she doesn’t kiss and tell.

“Who knows! [Laughing] A girl does not kiss and tell!”

Paige went on to say that she’s “definitely single right now.”

Pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, who has been romantically linked to his partners in the past, hinted to Entertainment Tonight that there’s definitely something going on between Paige and Alan. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Val was romantically linked to his Season 19 partner, actress Janel Parrish.

“Are there relationships that spring up during this process? Of course. You go through such an incredible journey together. If the vibe is right in that sense, why not? Things happen, but I think your job is your job and you should have certain ethics and morals and act accordingly. I have not done so in the past. I have been much better now and I’m just really looking from the side and tsk tsking Alan right now,” he added with a laugh. “He’s young and he’ll learn and good for him. Good for you Alan!”

Entertainment Tonight went on to report that at the DWTS after-party, Paige and Alan were spotted hanging out together and seemed to stay close to one another the whole night.

During a pre-taped segment of Monday’s episode, Paige said that she’s just concentrating on winning the competition right now.

“Me and Alan are friends, but right now I’m a little preoccupied with the competition. I want to make it all the way, and we’re so close.”

Perhaps they’ll give serious dating a go after the competition? A week ago, Alan posted a photo of himself playing basketball with some friends. Several people commented that it seems to be Paige in the back watching.

Paige and Alan danced together before when Alan stepped in last-minute to take Marks’ place for a dance after Mark suffered an injury. Many fans commented on blogs and social media about Paige’s chemistry with Alan and rumors began to circulate that they were dating in real life.

Prior to that first dance together, Alan wished Paige, whom he described as “beautiful,” a happy birthday.

The trio’s Samba dance on Monday night, which had Alan and Mark dressed as peacocks vying for Paige’s affection, received a very good response. “Wow…really good chemistry. Really good chemistry,” host Tom Bergeron commented right after the dance.” The judges awarded them a perfect 30 score.

On Instagram, Paige called the Samba dance she performed with Mark and Alan “amazing.”

Mark called it “incredible” and said that he was “so proud” of Paige and Alan.

After the Samba, Mark and Paige performed an Argentine Tango dance. Judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli thought it was terrific and each awarded Mark and Paige a 10 score. Judge Len Goodman, however, found the sexy routine, which had Paige and Mark taking off one another’s clothes, a bit too risqué for his taste and so gave it a 9 score. In the end, Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold, as well as Antonio Brown and Sharna Burgess, were sent home. Paige VanZant and Mark Ballas, Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd, and Ginger Zee and Val Chmerkovskiy advanced to next week’s Dancing with the Stars finals.
