Watch a blind gamer conquer Zelda: Ocarina of Time

19-year-old gamer Jordan from Canada just took the cockles of my icy heart and warmed them. Jordan is currently in the process of completing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (yeah, even that damn Water Temple), despite being entirely blind since birth. He’s playing from a very specific script of directions, as drawn up by a group of other Zelda fans.

Now, he’s taken to uploading footage of his quest to YouTube, revealing the ingenuity behind his technique: side-jumping and backflipping to navigate through Ocarina of Time’s world (which is still pretty vast, even by modern standards).

Jordan’s YouTube channel has a whole bunch of these videos, including video proof of his blindness, presumably added because some of the swamp life who inhabit YouTube feel it’s appropriate to question his condition. Anyhow, inspiring stuff Jordan. Here he is in action:
