‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For May 13, Super Good Retreads

Destiny players that may have missed out on certain Exotic pieces being sold by Xûr get another chance the weekend of May 13. The Agent of the Nine is back in the Tower and brings Super Good Advice along with rarely sold armor pieces like the Twilight Garrison and Achlyophage Symbiote.

Xûr can be found next to the Crucible Quartermaster in the Tower this weekend. Simply head straight toward the Vanguard hall after spawning in the tower and look against the wall on the left just before you run into the Quartermaster. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Super Good Advice

Super Good Advice is not a weapon known for its accuracy, but that actually works to its advantage. The Heavy Machine Gun’s namesake perk returns missed shots to the magazine. Additionally, landing shots may automatically load rounds from reserve ammo into the magazine. This is a solid weapon to use for area denial or against the rare enemy object in the game that doesn’t count hits, such as the Oracles in the Vault of Glass.

Twilight Garrison

The main draw for the Twilight Garrison is the fact it makes Titans more mobile. The Tactical Air Support intrinsic perk allows players to do an evasive move while airborne by pressing B, B on the Xbox One or Circle, Circle on the PS4. This piece is best used in Crucible and is very helpful dodging incoming fire and Supers.

The 65 Discipline/68 Strength split roll is strong for the piece, and it comes with the option to carry more Special Ammo or Heavy Ammo. It also comes with a choice between increased recovery when taking Void damage or more armor when playing the Defender sub-class in Destiny.

Achlyophage Symbiote

Hunters that still run Gunslinger in Destiny Year Two will want to pick up this upgrade from what was a beloved Year One piece. The “Last Man Standing” innate perk gives one extra shot to the Golden Gun. Unfortunately, a previous Destiny update reduced the super time of the Gunslinger Hunter thus making it more difficult to get that fourth crucial shot off. This is especially true when not in crowds. Still, a Golden Gun round can now take out a Sunbreaker Titan in a single shot in PVP and an extra shot is always beneficial.

The optional perks are “Hands On” or “Heavy Lifting,” along with “Invigoration” as the lone perk in the final column.

The 71 pure Intellect roll is perfect to help regain Super energy quickly. Destiny players may want to consider using the Glass Needles to reroll to get Inverse Shadow as one of the optional perks.

THE STAG

The Stag helmet not only makes your Destiny character look like a creepy deer, it also comes with the “Doe or Die” perk to grant faster Super energy recharge when you are the last of your fireteam to be standing and can proc an overshield on respawn. This is probably best used for small team PVP multiplayer game types, such as Elimination and Trials of Osiris, since they allow for situations where you could be the last man standing.

The optional perks on The Stag are a choice between the “Ashes to Asset” for bonus Super energy from grenade kills against minions, and “Second Thoughts” for bonus Super energy from Special Weapon kills on minions. There is also “Infusion” to replenish health after Orb pickups.

The 46 Intellect/49 Strength stat split on this helmet is solid and shouldn’t require a re-roll unless there are other perks you prefer.
