Christina Aguilera Talks Mother’s Day Ahead Of Gwen Stefani’s Return To ‘The Voice’

Christina Aguilera and her co-stars, including Pharrell Williams and Adam Levine, are in for a special treat on tonight’s new episode of The Voice Season 10, but Aguilera may not be thrilled with the news.

During the May 9 episode of The Voice, Gwen Stefani and her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, will be performing their new duet, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.” However, due to Christina Aguilera’s alleged feud with Stefani and Shelton, which is said to be over their highly publicized romance, she may not be as excited to see the couple in action as the rest of the cast.

While Christina Aguilera spoke of Mother’s Day on May 8, as Gossip Cop revealed, she hasn’t said a thing about Stefani and Shelton’s duet.

In March, Christina Aguilera’s alleged feud with Stefani reportedly reached new heights after producers of The Voice were rumored to have offered a bonus to Shelton and Stefani for sharing their romance on the show.

“Blake and Gwen are getting an interesting offer from the show’s execs,” a source told Radar Online at the time. “Producers want the two of them to give fans a full-on love-fest this season when she is a mentor on Team Blake, and they are going to throw in huge bonuses for exclusives, such as on-air duets, engagements, etc.”

“[Christina Aguilera] is furious!” the source explained. “Christina wants Gwen out of the picture and is already throwing mini-tantrums about it.”

Christina Aguilera and Stefani had been alternating seasons on The Voice as coaches for the past few years, but when The Voice Season 10 returned to NBC earlier this year, so did Stefani. While it wasn’t her season to star as a coach, Stefani was brought back as a mentor, much to the dismay of Christina Aguilera.

“[Christina Aguilera] said that Gwen is ‘not vocally talented’ and would not be on the show at all anymore if it was not for her relationship with Blake,” the Radar Online source alleged.

As for how Shelton was handling Christina Aguilera’s reported drama, the source claimed he hasn’t been paying her much attention at all.

“Blake really does not care what [Christina Aguilera] does or says,” the insider said. “He is a completely different person now because of Gwen, so much more laid-back. He said that he’s grateful the show is the reason that he and Gwen found each other.”

Also on tonight’s new episode of The Voice, as reported by Rickey on May 9, the top 9 contestants will be seen performing live in front of Christina Aguilera and her fellow coaches.

As The Voice Season 10 nears its end, Christina Aguilera is preparing to make her way off the show, and while Stefani’s return for Season 11 has been mentioned, Christina Aguilera’s future with NBC is less certain.

In March, the Wrap confirmed Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams would be leaving the series to make room for new coaches Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. And while a source claimed Stefani would “likely” return in the spring for The Voice Season 12, Aguilera’s role on The Voice Season 12 wasn’t mentioned. Instead, the source said the panel could include Williams.

Aside from The Voice, Christina Aguilera is busy with her parenting duties with son Max and daughter Summer Rain, and along with her fiancé, Matt Rutler, she will soon launch a new series on Spike TV, Tracks.
