Mercury Transit Sparking End Of World Fears [Video]

Sky watchers are in for a treat on May 9; that’s when the highly anticipated Mercury “transit” (when Mercury passes visibly between Earth and the sun) takes place. The transit of Mercury will be visible to most people in North America and Europe, provided their local weather permits. If you want, you can watch the event for yourself with binoculars or a telescope (using a solar filter to protect your eyes, of course), or you can check out a livestream here. The cosmic event begins at 7:12 a.m. EST, and the entire transit will take seven and a half hours.

As Vox reports, Mercury transits are rare; they only happen about a dozen or so times every century. The rarity of a Mercury transit may be why some are seeing a disturbing portent in the event. Indeed, some seem to believe that the upcoming Mercury transit signals that the end of the world is upon us, citing “spooky celestial behavior” that is said to be accompanying Monday’s transit.

Check out what’s being said.

To sum it up, the YouTube channel “The Prophetico” seems to be where the Mercury transit-related end of the world concerns originated. Whoever’s behind the channel says that planetary alignments and constellation juxtaposition don’t bode well for the future of humanity, reports Express.

According to the dire prediction, the first clue that the transit of Mercury has to do with doom of Biblical proportions is the appearance of the moon on the day of the transit. May 6 was the beginning of a new moon cycle. It also happened to be a “super-moon,” meaning that the moon is at its closest orbital point to Earth. By May 9, at the peak of the rare Mercury transit, the new moon will be visible as a thin crescent.

The narrator of the YouTube video explains that during the Mercury transit, when the moon is a thin sliver of a crescent, most of the planets in the solar system will also be aligned in the shape of a crescent. The only planet breaking rank is Jupiter. This second crescent, created via planetary alignment, points to bad things on the horizon. The fact that Jupiter doesn’t fall in line? According to the video, “this is extremely prophetic looking” as well.

Why? Because while Venus, the Sun, Mercury, Earth, Mars, and Saturn are lining up into a nearly-perfect celestial crescent, Jupiter will be visible in the constellation Leo. The more Biblical among us refer to Leo as “the Lion of Judah.”

The creators of the Mercury transit end of days video (the same people who’ve foisted this most recent doomsday prophecy on the world) believe that we are watching Micah chapters three through five play out. In those Biblical passages, Micah asks the Lord to “take down the leaders who have corrupted the people and lied to them.”

On the night of the Mercury transit, sky watchers in the Holy Land will see the crescent moon align with the constellation Orion in such a way that Orion’s club will appear to have become a mace.

“When we take a look at this, take note that Orion is the sign of the smite per Micah chapter five.”

Micah 5 begins with a familiar quote.

“But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah, who are one of the little clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.”

Many Christians believe that this passage is going to become a reality on Monday, sparked (or signaled) by the Mercury transit. Some Christians wholeheartedly believe that the above verse is a direct reference to the birth of Jesus, as well as God’s vengeance. A vengeance that will be taken against those nations who haven’t obeyed His laws.

Another “sign” that indicates that Monday’s Mercury transit is a sign of doomy things to come is the fact that it takes place three days after the new moon. The number three is very significant in the Bible. It is related to death and resurrection (Jesus was resurrected on the third day), as well as sex sins.

It remains to be seen if the upcoming transit of Mercury is actually a sign that the end really is nigh. Only time will tell whether or not this prophecy is any more accurate than the thousands of end of the world prophecies that have been voiced over the centuries, all of which have come and gone without the world coming to an end.

What do you think? Is this prophecy going to be the one, or will the Mercury transit just be a really cool sky watching opportunity?
