‘Marvel Heroes’ Developers Detail ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Event, Expect A Free Iron Man Or Captain America Hero

On May 6, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War releases in United States theaters. On the same day, Marvel Heroes will commemorate the film’s release with a multi-stage event. Players of the action RPG will benefit from boosted player experience, a free hero giveaway, new dropped items, and much more during the Civil War event.

The first week of the event in Marvel Heroes introduces Crossbones in the game’s Patrol Modes, a new quest in Madripoor, bonus experience, and a limited time giveaway that rewards either a free Iron Man or free Captain America hero. According to a game developer on the official forum, players will have to choose between Team Iron Man and Team Captain America when two codes are revealed for the weekend. Choosing and redeeming one will stop players from picking the other. The code will reward the hero from the chosen side in addition to a Team Mystery Box.

The two team codes will only be available for a limited time, though. As a game designer noted on the Marvel Heroes discussion on Reddit, after the codes are posted, players will have until the end of the following Monday to choose their free hero and Team Mystery Box. It is specifically stated that, “you’ll have until 11:59 PM pacific Monday to redeem them.” These boxes are guaranteed to include a random hero or costume, a guaranteed team spotlight visual, a guaranteed random Fortune Card, and a chance at Civil War team-ups, STASH pets, and other visuals.

“All of the playable heroes in Captain America: Civil War will get 50% bonus experience! This includes Captain America, Iron Man, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Black Widow, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Vision and Spider-Man! Edit: Due to player requests, we will also be doing 50% base bonus experience for all playables.”

On May 12, players will have to choose a side within the game thanks to the quest in Madripoor. After a team is chosen, players will need to raise their Influence with the group to unlock new items from the Influence Vendor. Additionally, the team Tournament will start on that date giving players a chance to compete with the other team for special prizes. Civil War characters in Marvel Heroes will earn even more experience this week.

On May 19, all of the content from the previous weeks will continue to be available, but the experience gain for Civil War characters will raise again to 150 percent bonus experience. On May 26, all of the Civil War events will end and all the associated modes, tournaments, vendors, and more will leave the game. However, the Civil War event will return in the future outside of the regular event rotation.

As The Inquisitr reported, eager players can pre-purchase Civil War bundles right now. These bundles include all of the Civil War costumes, the new team-ups, and more Mystery Boxes. The pricier pack includes the playable heroes, Avengers Assemble Boosts, and a few more boxes. The Catch-Up Pack, on the other hand, is perfect for existing players with many of heroes already unlocked. This cheaper pack includes the new costumes, the new team-ups, and only two Mystery Boxes.
