Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber Kissing Photo Becomes Most Liked On Instagram As She Unveils Mystery Tattoo [Photos]
Selena Gomez rocked the red carpet at the Met Gala, flaunting her sky-high ponytail and designer frock. But while Gomez enjoyed the fashion-forward gala, she felt forced to skip one glamorous after-party scene. The reason? Selena wanted to avoid a potentially awkward run-in with Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, a source told Hollywood Life.
“Selena and her girls were supposed to go to the after-party at The Boom Boom Room, but when she found out Justin was going to be there, she changed her plans. She didn’t want to be there with Justin and Hailey. It’s a small place and that would just be way too uncomfortable,” explained the insider.
After spending time in the photo booth there, Gomez and her friends entertained themselves at their own private after-party at her house, which she shared on Instagram.
“How my after MET looks #partyof4,” Selena wrote for the caption.
That missed encounter is just the latest incident in her years of romantic ups and downs with Bieber.
It was in March, 2011, that Selena and Justin confirmed they were dating, noted the Salt Lake Tribune.
They became Jelena (Justin + Selena) to fans for three years prior to their dramatic split. When Gomez talked with David Letterman about the breakup, Letterman informed Selena that Bieber had cried.
“That makes two of us,” responded Gomez.
In 2014, Selena unveiled “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” which she admitted was about her former boyfriend. But he subsequently rekindled hope among Jelena fans by serenading Gomez with “My Girl” and “Sorry” late last year.
Gomez showed up at his concert four days after he shared a throwback picture of the lovebirds, which she “liked” and described as “perfect.” A source told Hollywood Life that since then, Selena and Justin have been texting.
And Gomez isn’t the only one to like that throwback photo of the two passionately kissing, because it just became the most-liked photo on Instagram, reported AOL.
As to who he replaced? That throwback Jelena photo dethroned Kendall Jenner by garnering more than 3.5 million likes.
Kendall’s picture displayed her hair in heart shapes.
The comments on the Jelena photo show the affection that fans have maintained for the couple.
“JELENA FOREVER!!!” posted one such fervent Belieber.
While their fans continue to await a true rekindling of their romance, both Bieber and Gomez remain dedicated to their music careers, with Justin in the midst of his Purpose tour and Selena about to embark on her Revival tour. As the Inquisitr reported, Gomez has been sharing sneak peeks of her tour on Instagram.
Among the highlights are her tattoos, because Selena shared that she’s making all of them available.
But there’s a mystery when it comes to Selena and her tattoos.
After Gomez finished her red carpet appearance at the Met Gala, she went casual in low-rise jeans. And what she showed in those jeans was what appeared to be a teeny tiny new tattoo, noted Teen Vogue.
However, it’s not known if it is a temporary tattoo or just one that has never been viewed before. As to the symbolism? One person speculated that it might be a cartoon pony.
Gomez is more candid about her love affair with tattoos than she is when it comes to talking about Justin, however.
Selena explained to Refinery 29 that she became enamored of tattoos when she decided to see how her first one looked.
“I wanted something small to test the waters,” recalled Gomez. “Now, I’m addicted.”
As to whether that little newly spotted tattoo confirms her addiction, is temporary, or just hasn’t been seen before remains a mystery.
