Gigi Hadid Accused Of ‘Racist Slurs’? What Really Happened

Gigi Hadid and her boyfriend Zayn Malik turned heads when they stepped out on the red carpet as an official couple at the 2016 Met Gala. But the blonde model has been caught in some controversy shortly after the ball took place.

Gigi Hadid stole the spotlight when she walked down the red carpet in a custom-made Tommy Hilfiger gown, which featured metallic details that perfectly fit the “Manux X Machina” theme. Hadid complemented her look with a long and sleek ponytail and silver manicure while Malik wore silver arm cuffs on his tuxedo.

Her lavish manicure was the most talked-about accessory of the night since it costs more than the average wedding gown (which is $1400, according to Self). Celebrity manicurist Mar y Sol worked with KISS to create the perfect metallic set for Gigi.

“Underneath each nail, I added three crystals for an element of surprise and to ensure her nails look flawless no matter what angle.”

However, a Snapchat video of Gigi Hadid and comedian Aziz Ansari have been making the rounds on social media since late Monday night. The short clip features what looks like Hadid playing with one of the filters and taking her selfie. Then Ansari makes an appearance and asks her, “You didn’t post the part where you were saying all those racial slurs, did you?”

Wait a minute – is that what he really said? Check out the clip for yourself below.

Does that mean that Aziz insinuated that Gigi made racist remarks before she shared the Snapchat video? Or is he just making a joke? Meanwhile, some of Gigi’s fans have been busy making remarks on her insanely costly manicure instead.

Since Ansari is a comedian, some are thinking that he was just making a joke. But the clip looked kind of awkward, nonetheless. Some are wondering why Hadid would post the clip in the first place. Snapchat gives you the option of deleting the clip before posting it. You also have the option to edit or film another clip, if you didn’t like the original one.

Gigi certainly looked shocked and speechless when he made that remark. She even stopped doing whatever she was doing before the video cuts out. He could have been cracking a joke about her younger sister, Bella Hadid, who was the center of racism last month.

Early last month, the 19-year-old model made headlines of her own as someone dug up racist tweets she made a few years ago. According to Bossip, in the four-year-old tweets, Hadid constantly drops the n-word and made racist jokes about black people. Keep in mind that in the first one she was quoting a Tyler, The Creator rap lyric.

One tweet reads, “Got all the Black b*****s mad cayse my main b***h vanilllllla.” Then Bella added, “Just stole a black mans chicken. Oops.”

The one that made people really mad was the tweets when Bella Hadid used the n-word repeatedly without any shame.

One tweet read, “#YouKnowYoureWhiteWhen 4. You know all the correct lyrics to ever gangster rap song ever made and sing every word except for n***a.” Then she replied, “@TehranSopravaz guess I’m not white #awkward.”

Then she wrote to another friend, “@Lala_Kai you can see my freckles n***a! #happygirl.”

Bella Hadid’s tweets have since been deleted and made little impact except on social media. Once the tweets started going viral again on Twitter, Bella removed them from her profile.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Bella Hadid was being racist, or just being immature at the time of the tweets?

Both Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid have not responded to the accusations over the racist remarks they made.

What are your thoughts on the above Snapchat video? Do you think Aziz Ansari was joking to Gigi Hadid, or, do you believe that he really was accusing her of making racist remarks? Feel free to share your opinion below in the comments section.
