Father Leaves Baby In Car For 90 Minutes While He Worked Out At Gym, Arrested

Solomon Allen, a 25-year-old man from Los Angeles, has been arrested on charges of child endangerment after he allegedly left his 8-month-old baby inside his car while he worked out at a north Hollywood gym. According to the Los Angeles Times, Solomon left his infant daughter in an unlocked car with its engine running. The car was parked inside the parking lot belonging to the gym. The incident happened on Friday morning at around 9 a.m., local time.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the unattended baby was spotted inside the car by a maintenance worker who was working inside the parking lot garage. According to reports, the worker, who has not been identified yet, heard the cries of a baby. The worker was astonished to find the unattended baby inside the car. It is not clear how long the baby had been crying.

According to Jose Rivera, a supervisor at the parking lot, the maintenance worker went into panic mode upon seeing the baby inside the car. He said,

“He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. A baby. Nobody around in the parking lot, not even walking by. He knew the baby had been in his eyes abandoned inside the vehicle. And the baby just seem really bothered, in the baby seat and just constantly crying.”

After the discovery of the baby inside the car, paramedics were called in to rescue the baby. The child was also transported to a nearby hospital for a checkup. Doctors there confirmed that the baby was fine. The child was handed over to her mother on the same day.

Commenting on the incident, LAPD Captain Stephen Carmona told KABC News,

“It’s extremely careless and it’s very selfish to leave an infant that’s 8 months old in a car with the motor running, unlocked in a parking structure at a public business,.

Following his arrest, Allen is being held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on May 25 at the Van Nuys Superior Court.

The incident is also being talked about on social media.

This is not the first time the Inquisitr has reported about careless parents leaving their children behind in cars. Luckily, in this case, the car wasn’t locked and the child escaped unhurt. Other children were less fortunate, however. In 2015, the Inquisitr reported about a father in Florida who forgot to drop his baby at a daycare center while going to office and forgot the baby inside the car. He only discovered the lifeless body of his child when he came home that afternoon.

In another incident, a baby boy died in the parking lot of Deltona Middle School in Florida last September when a teacher accidentally left the child in the hot vehicle. The 6-month-old baby boy was left in the hot SUV for nine hours.

The Inquisitr will update this story with more information soon.
