‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’ Awakening DLC Arrives On Xbox 360, Eclipse DLC On Xbox One

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 players over at the PlayStation 4 platform have been enjoying some pretty serious timed perks and releases, leaving Xbox One players eager and excited. Finally, these much-awaited Black Ops 3 DLCs are coming to the two Xbox platforms.

Xbox 360 players rejoice, the first Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is actually still coming to the Xbox 360! One of the very few recent AAA titles to not let go of the old Xbox console, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is bringing the first Black Ops 3 DLC to the Xbox 350 this May.

The first Black Ops 3 DLC was the Awakening DLC, which was first made available to the PlayStation 4 in February, thanks to the timed exclusivity deal between Sony and Activision. This same Awakening DLC for Black Ops 3 was made available to the Xbox One and PC a month later in March. As of last March, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users were led to believe that they will not be able to download or purchase the Awakening DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. But it seems Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 honchos have had a change of heart. Xbox Live’s Larry Hryb, known for his online handle Major Nelson and famous for dropping the bigger news on all things Xbox, just revealed this week that Black Ops 3?s first DLC is actually coming now to Xbox 360. And this isn’t some sweet trick. We actually have a date!

In a tweet last April 29, Hryb announced that Black Ops 3’s Awakening DLC will be available to Xbox 360 come May 5. As of now, there is still no link to the download but we are expecting an update real soon.

Even though this comes as a good news to a lot of users who are still on the Xbox 360, not so surprisingly, it has brought mixed emotions among other Call of Duty and Black Ops 3 fans. Some fans are clamoring that Black Ops 3 wasn’t even created that well for Xbox 360, and are expecting the company to come out with a remastered version in the near future. Some Call of Duty fans, while they still appreciate the Black Ops 3 Awakening DLC news, they are more interested if devs will come out with a Black Ops 1 DLC, which continues to be a Call of Duty fan favorite.

In another news, the new generation Xbox users are already looking forward to the second DLC of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which, as per the timed exclusivity deal, already came out on the PlayStation 4 this April. The Black Ops 3 DLC 2 called Eclipse was made available to PlayStation 4 users last April 19 and with the 30-day exclusivity deal, Xbox One users are looking at a May 19 date for the Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC to make it to their consoles.

Gotta Be Mobile expects the Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC to release for the Xbox One at 12:01 a.m. Pacific on the 19th. Just like what happened with the Eclipse DLC release on the PlayStation 4, expect a large 6 to 7 GB download a day or two early.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s DLC 2 Eclipse will bring the Zetsubou No Shima Zombie map and four new action-packed multiplayer maps. If you haven’t pre-purchased the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Season Pass, you can still get your hands on this upcoming DLC by purchasing the Season Pass online from the Call of Duty website for $50.
