Ben Higgins And Lauren Bushnell Stay Strong: ‘Bachelor’ Duo Remain United Amid Rumors And Criticism

Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell from ABC’s The Bachelor 2016 season are engaged and living together now, but it looks like they are having to battle some negativity from some show fans and tabloid outlets these days. Despite the fact that Ben and Lauren seem to be very happy together and are planning for the future as a couple, they are having to deal with some criticism just like most franchise couples face in the months after their finale airs. What’s the latest?

Since their Bachelor finale aired, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell have been doing a lot of traveling. They spent time with family in both Warsaw, Indiana, and Portland, Oregon, and got Lauren packed up in California and officially moved to Ben’s home in Denver, Colorado. All signs point toward Higgins and Bushnell being quite happy together these days, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still hounded by some detractors.

This week, In Touch reported that insiders are talking about some conflict brewing between Ben and Lauren. Supposedly, the issue is that she has not yet found a regular job in Denver, and he is irked that she isn’t pulling her weight. The outlet’s source also claims that Bushnell has been in no rush to find a new job because she misses Los Angeles and is hoping to convince Higgins to pick up and move there for her.

While the report makes for a juicy story, Ben and Lauren’s fans aren’t really buying it. Bushnell has seemed pretty content in Denver after getting moved, and she has been tweeting with Bachelorette star Trista Sutter about all the stuff she would like them to do together. Bushnell may not have started a full-time job again yet, but considering how much the couple has been traveling lately, it should come as no surprise that neither Bachelor star is back in everyday-life mode quite yet.

In addition to the tabloid report claiming that there is trouble in paradise, many Bachelor fans have noticed that some of the couple’s critics have been quite harsh regarding Lauren on social media. While this is an issue for many franchise contestants, a some of these critics are quite relentless in the case of Ben and Lauren.

Not only do many critics comment regularly on Ben and Lauren’s tweets or Instagram pictures referencing how they feel he should have picked JoJo Fletcher, but some have been quite critical of Lauren in terms of her figure and style of dress. While most Bachelor fans think Lauren is gorgeous and has a fantastic sense of style, a few people are posting very ugly comments toward Bushnell.

Neither Ben nor Lauren have said anything specific about the negativity, but Higgins did post a tweet earlier in the week that may well be referencing the drama. The Bachelor star retweeted a post from ESPN and added a note about how some people bully others online.

Ben has also been posting some photos of Lauren where he makes it abundantly clear that he adores her and fully supports her. This Bachelor duo might be frustrated by the critics out there, but their Bachelor supporters are head-over-heels in love with them as a couple and are hoping they can make their relationship last.

Higgins and Bushnell may be calling Denver home these days, but they are still doing some appearances here and there, and it looks like they are headed to the iHeartCountry Festival in Austin, Texas, over the weekend. Despite all of the travel of late, Ben and Lauren have teased that they are likely going to start planning their wedding soon, and they may even get hitched before the end of the year.

Can Ben and Lauren stay strong through the negativity and make their relationship work? Can Bachelor fans look forward to a wedding for Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell sometime in the next year or so? Many are rooting for this duo to beat the odds, and they may well be able to relax a bit when JoJo Fletcher’s turn as ABC’s The Bachelorette 2016 lead kicks off on May 23.
