‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Finale: The Gemini Twins To Save Bonnie? Damon’s Ultimate Sacrifice

The Vampire Diaries started off focusing on Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and her relationships with Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). Over the years, The CW series began featuring different storylines and putting the spotlight on other characters. Right now, viewers are wondering if Bonnie (Kat Graham) will die. The synopsis for Season 7, Episode 22 of TVD, which is the season finale, teases that the Gemini twins may hold the key to saving Bonnie.

TVD‘s entire show centered around Dobrev. After Nina’s exit from The Vampire Diaries, many fans wondered how the show would survive. Season 7 has definitely been different, but there are so many plot holes and twisted storytelling. The executive producers promised it would all come together, but how and when? The synopsis for the Season 7 finale of The Vampire Diaries suggests that Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo’s (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) Gemini twins, which magically popped into Caroline’s (Candice King) belly, might be able to save Bonnie.

“Despite their best efforts to help Bonnie through the harrowing predicament she now faces, Damon, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and Caroline realize their options are running out and drastic measures need to be taken,” Spoiler TV wrote regarding the first part of the “Gods & Monsters” synopsis. “With their only chance of saving their friend lying inside the Armory, Stefan breaks the news to Caroline that they may need help from an unlikely source – her and Alaric’s twin daughters.

The entire reason Alaric took a new job in Dallas was to protect the Gemini twins and to get away from the supernatural craziness in Mystic Falls. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, he didn’t want to join the search for Stefan Salvatore and didn’t appreciate Caroline’s ex-boyfriend coming to see her after three years. Neither of those directly involved Alaric’s children. However, if the Gemini twins hold the key to saving Bonnie, how will Alaric feel about that? Will he refuse because it will put the twins in too much danger? Or will he allow it to save Bonnie’s life?

That isn’t all that was revealed in the press release for The Vampire Diaries Season 7 finale. According to TV Line, it was also stated that Enzo will take Bonnie back to the cabin. However, Enzo’s plan takes an unexpected turn and Damon will try to save his friends by making the “ultimate sacrifice.” What does Damon do, and does his ultimate sacrifice actually save Bonnie?

In the press release, the words “harrowing predicament” are used to describe Bonnie’s storyline in The Vampire Diaries season finale. But, what exactly does that mean? There might be a tiny clue in the synopsis for Season 7, Episode 21, titled “Requiem For A Dream.” The TVD episode airs one week before the season finale.

“When Damon’s risky attempt to save Bonnie takes an unexpected turn, the consequences of his actions forces everyone to band together to help her pull through,” Spoilers Guide revealed about Bonnie’s storyline in TVD. “Meanwhile, when a new threat leaves Caroline’s life in jeopardy, Stefan makes a rash decision that ultimately forces them to face the fallout from their relationship. Elsewhere, Enzo tries to hold it together as he painfully watches Bonnie in the fight of her life, while Matt (Zach Roerig) takes matters into his own hands to save one of his closest friends.”

It seems that Damon will still work to save Bonnie’s life. Somerhalder’s character really does try, but for some reason, he continues to cause more problems. By the sound of it, fans might be looking at Damon making things worse for Bonnie instead of better.

What will be Damon’s “ultimate sacrifice?” Can the Gemini twins help or will Bonnie die in The Vampire Diaries? Find out when The CW network airs the Season 7 finale on May 13.
