Appeals Court Says Britney Spears Was A Drug Abuser

A report has surfaced that sheds some light on the meltdown that Britney Spears had nearly 10 years ago. While Spears was having a number of mental health symptoms, court documents are revealing that she was also having significant problems with drug abuse.

Britney Spears is under a lifetime conservatorship with her father, Jamie Spears, as her conservator, according to TMZ. Right now, Spears has been under the conservatorship for seven-and-a-half years, and it has worked beautifully for Britney Spears and her two children. It could always be repealed or changed, but for now, there is no end in sight. Before the conservatorship was put into place, Spears was on the verge of losing her children, and now, everyone seems happy.

The documents are being released right now through the California Board of Appeals because Britney Spears is about to be deposed in a legal case that will pit Spears against her former friend, Svengali, and manager, Sam Lufti, according to a new report from TMZ. Part of the paperwork filed by the Spears team is to keep Lufti out of the room during Britney’s deposition and testimony.

When Spears was involved with Lufti, her life was a mess, she was getting divorced, and she was struggling with mental health issues. But the court documents reveal something else that many had guessed.

“In addition, she [Spears] was struggling with drug abuse.”

Lufti says he was trying to get Spears clean, while her family says that he was the one providing Spears with drugs.

New York Daily News says that the Britney Spears team, because of her drug use and addiction issues, takes keeping drugs away from Britney Spears seriously. For this reason, before Spears collaborated with Iggy Azalea, a security team swept Iggy’s house for drugs, which according to Azalea was alarming and unexpected.

The duo were meeting up at Azalea’s house to discuss the project, but a Spears advance team came by before the meet to do a thorough scrubbing. Azalea said she had never seen anything like it, and never thought of herself as someone Spears would worry about.

“They came and checked my place to make sure I wasn’t trying to stash anything weird… to make sure I wasn’t a bad influence,” Azalea told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in March.

She commented that it’s not as if Iggy lives in a crack den. But sadly, the collaboration was considered a flop, which Iggy blamed on bad promotion. Others said that instead it was Iggy’s bad attitude, and Britney Spears not wanting to deal with it.

My News LA says that a judge has ruled that Sam Lufti’s team can depose her for his upcoming case against Britney Spears. The suit is a retrial against Britney Spears and her father, Jamie Spears, and the bottom line is it is about money, and the validity of a management agreement between Britney Spears and Lufti.

The first trial fell apart because Britney Spears was declared mentally incompetent, but this time, the judge claims that Spears is fit for deposition. But Jamie Spears insisted that Lufti go nowhere near Britney Spears, and the judge agreed.

“Ms. Spears and her counsel are to be at one end and (Lutfi) at the other.”

There was a restraining order in place against Lufti, but there is no word whether it was renewed.
