Rita Ora Responds To ‘Becky’ Claims: Throws Shade At Beyoncé?

Rita Ora has quickly become one of the many women who have been accused of being the “Becky” that Beyoncé briefly mentions on her new album, Lemonade.

In one of the tracks titled, “Sorry,” the singer sings about a woman named “Becky with the good hair” that has everyone wondering who it is. This very line has caused Bey’s fans to go on a social media witch hunt to track the woman down. Everyone from Rachel Roy to Rihanna, and even Gwyneth Paltrow, have been accused of ruining Bey and Jay’s marriage.

It all started when fans noticed that Rita Ora shared an interesting photo on Snapchat just days before Beyoncé released her visual album and HBO special. The British pop star took to both Snapchat and Instagram to share a few photos of herself in lingerie since she’s reportedly the face of the new brand Tezenis. On Thursday, April 21, Ora took shared a Snapchat photo of herself wearing a sheer bra with strategically placed lemons on her nipples.

In the photo, Ora wrote: “RITA X TEZENIS thanks everyone who wore them at Coachella!”

But fans were too busy to notice what else Rita was wearing in the photo. Some assumed that the initial necklace that she wore around the neck resembled a capital “J,” while others argued that it resembled a backwards “r.”

Rita Ora added more fuel to the fire when she stepped out in the same outfit that Beyoncé owns. Queen Bey wore the iconic red Gucci blouse and skirt in the music video in her controversial music video for “Formation.” Ora wore the exact same ensemble, except with different shoes, when she was spotted shopping in West Hollywood on Monday, April 25, according to the Mirror.

The singer even put her own twist on the outfit by leaving a few buttons undone so that she could flash off her yellow bra. Rita also paired her look with pink tinted sunglasses and gold jewelry. She was also seen wearing that necklace that everyone assumes is a capital “J.”

But that’s not the only stunt that Rita Ora pulled. She took to Instagram to share a poster of a random movie that has an underlying message behind it, according to the Hollywood Life. Ora shared a photo of Elizabeth Taylor’s movie, Ash Wednesday, on Tuesday, April 26, just days after Bey’s fans swarmed to her social media account to accuse of hooking up with Jay-Z. All she left in the caption was the praising hands emoji.

According to the report, Ash Wednesday is about a woman named Barbara (Elizabeth Taylor) who’s desperate to save her marriage, but ends up cheating on her husband. Some fans think that Rita’s cryptic post is a response to Beyoncé’s own failing marriage.

Now, Rita Ora has taken to Twitter to address the accusations. She wants everybody to know that she’s really not “Becky with the good hair.” On Tuesday afternoon, Ora denied everything in a series of tweets.

This isn’t the first time that Rita had to deny the rumors that she ruined Bey and Jay’s marriage. In a 2014 interview with DJ Charlamagne Tha God, she flat out denied the rumors. She claims to have a lot of respect for Queen Bey, despite what the fans think.

“Don’t you dare disrepect Beyoncé like that ever again in your entire life. Yeah cause that’s just straight up disrespect. You can’t even go there, that’s just not a question.”

In fact, it seems like Ora is a huge Beyoncé fan. She has showed her respect for the legendary singer and performer on her Instagram before. Ora took to Instagram to show her love for “Formation” after the provocative music video dropped. Regardless, Ora still stirred the pot by wearing the same outfit as Beyoncé and sharing that cryptic photo on Instagram.
