‘American Horror Story’ Season 6: Evan Peters Debuts New Beard — Is It Part Of New ‘AHS’ Theme?

Evan Peters has played a pivotal role in all five seasons of American Horror Story. With details for Season 6 of the hit FX show scarce, fans are looking for any clues about what might be coming for the next season of the horror anthology series. At PaleyFest this year, Ryan Murphy teased that the writers were still working with two different scripts and didn’t know which way they were going yet. One thing AHS fans can be certain of, though, is that Evan will be back, should he choose to participate in another season of the show that made him famous.

Given that Evan Peters is probably coming back to American Horror Story for Season 6, when he debuted a new look on Instagram, many fans began to wonder if it is part of his costume for the upcoming season. Evan still hasn’t confirmed whether he’ll even be on the next season of the hit FX series, but fans feel pretty secure that he’ll be back. Moviepilot made a few suggestions as to why Evan might be sporting some pretty gnarly facial hair and it had everything to do with the new season.

At PaleyFest in March, Ryan Murphy said that everyone on the panel with him that day was invited back for Season 6. Finn Wittrock, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare, Kathy Bates, and Sarah Paulson were all on-set during the American Horror Story panel and based on their presence at PaleyFest, all of them are expected to come back for another season of AHS. Lady Gaga also confirmed that she would be back after winning a Golden Globe for her performance in Hotel.

Evan’s girlfriend, Emma Roberts, appeared in Coven and Freak Show, but took a season off in order to star in anther Ryan Murphy hit, Scream Queens. She has also said she really wants to come back. Now that Scream Queens has moved their filming location from New Orleans to Los Angeles, it looks like Emma may get her chance. Emma told Entertainment Tonight last month that she wanted the opportunity to work with Lady Gaga and now she may get it.

Emma, who has been blonde for all of her appearances on American Horror Story and for Scream Queens as well, recently dyed her hair red. It looks stunning on Evan’s girlfriend, but both of their drastically different looks has fans wondering if Evan Peters longer hair and wild facial hair is all for his role in Season 6 of American Horror Story. Could Emma be playing a redhead and Evan playing a wildly unkempt man?

Season 6 has been the most secretive season of American Horror Story to date. Normally by now, Ryan Murphy has told fans a lot more at this point, and one year fans even knew the theme by March. This year it sounds like there still haven’t been many final decisions made about the theme of the upcoming season and most of the previous AHS actors are either coming back or at least have the opportunity.

As for Evan Peters, he certainly didn’t grow out that mangy beard for his role in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse role as Quicksilver. It’s more likely that he either got really lazy or he’s preparing to film Season 6 of American Horror Story, which should be starting very soon. Hopefully, AHS fans will get more details about what the theme will be and which stars have confirmed that they will be back.
