Lamar Odom Claims ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ Ruined His Life, Reality Show Inspired His Downfall

Lamar Odom has made considerable progress following his near-fatal overdose this past fall. Now that he’s back on the mend, Odom has had time to reflect on his actions in recent years, and it doesn’t bode well for the Kardashians. In fact, the former NBA star claims Keeping Up With the Kardashians was the main culprit behind his downward spiral.

An inside source told Radar Online that Odom believes that reality TV is to blame for his current state. Ever since his marriage to Khloe Kardashian, Odom has appeared in numerous reality shows, which he believes marked the beginning of a significant change for the worse.

“Lamar said that he was so happy playing for the Lakers and playing with Kobe and his life started to fall apart after he met Khloe… When he met her and started appearing on all of Kris Jenner’s reality shows, that’s when he started to go off the rails.”

Odom was recently spotted at Kobe Bryant’s final game as a Los Angeles Laker. The public sighting follows Odom’s near death experience at a Nevada brothel this past fall. Odom has made several public appearances lately, and appears to be on the road to a full recovery.

Unfortunately, watching his former teammate play his final game sparked some real emotions for Odom, who regretted that his days of playing are over. Along with blaming reality television, Odom also thinks Khloe played a part in his woes, which started ever since they exchanged vows.

“Lamar blames Khloe and her family. Being on the shows was the beginning of his terrible times,” the source stated.

Despite placing the blame on his estranged wife, Lamar Odom recently told ET Online that he maintains open channels of communication with Khloe. He even admitted that his relationship with Khloe was not at an end and that they had talked about the impending divorce.

“We did talk, you know, everything is [up for] discussion,” Odom explained in the interview. “We talk about anything. We’ve been through a lot. It won’t ever stop.”

That being said, Us Magazine is reporting that Khloe is getting ready to make her divorce with Odom official. As fans will recall, Khloe called off the divorce proceedings following Odom’s overdose. She made the decision to help Odom along while he recovered from his brain injury.

“Lamar is doing great. He hasn’t been drinking and is doing well. But Khloe is going to file for divorce. She wants to leave him now,” a source told the outlet. “Lamar loves her and wants to be with her. But he also wants to lead a normal life too.”

Of course, the insider’s comments allude to reports that Odom had returned to his drinking habits, which some believed could lead to more drug use. However, in speaking to ET, Odom addressed the drinking rumors and admitted that things get hard sometimes. Considering Odom’s history with substance abuse, there was a real call for concern about his state of health.

“I mean, it gets tough, especially if so much gets speculated,” he stated. “Only a few people know the truth, and I just keep that close to my heart.”

At the same time, Odom also revealed that he felt inspired by Bryant’s final game and that he hopes to “get back on the court” soon. “I still got it,” he said.

It’s unknown what will become of Odom’s marriage with Khloe now that he is clearly doing better. Based on Odom’s latest comments and his belief that the Kardashians are the reason for his downfall, it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll get back with Khloe anytime soon.
