‘The 100’ Spoilers: Another Character Dies, Ontari Makes A Bold Decision

This has to be the deadliest season of The 100 so far. After the deaths of Lexa and Lincoln (not even considering the massacre of Grounders), fans hoped that the death of main characters would be over. That was until this week’s episode, which saw fans say goodbye to another.

Clearly nobody is safe from the hands of Jason Rothenberg. This week, Clarke, Bellamy and the others make their way back to Arkadia in the hope that Lincoln’s sketchbook would have a way to find Luna. They need her for ALIE 2, the chip for the Grounder’s Heda. They also need to stop ALIE completely, and this is the only way to do that.

While they get in, Ontari is still trying to lead without being the real commander. Emori turns up, and Murphy tells her all about how Ontari doesn’t have the flame yet. It seems like such an innocent conversation, until it becomes clear that Emori was chipped and Jaha now knows all about the current fake Heda.

This does lead to Ontari agreeing to take the chip and become part of ALIE’s brainwashed lackeys. Only time will tell how long it takes ALIE to take over the rest of the Grounders. Could this lead to King Roan working with Clarke once more rather than killing her? Surely he would be smart enough not to take a chip, even if it does have an ancient symbol on it.

In Nerdist’s recap, The 100 fans are reminded about Emerson. He is not dead yet, and he still wants revenge against Clarke. Rather than just killing her, he wants her to watch all her friends die. After all, he has had to live knowing that all of his people are gone. He believes it is all justified, and it looked like everyone was going to die.

Luckily, Clarke had a plan up her sleeve. She decided to use ALIE 2, implanting it in him. Since he is not a Nightblood, Clarke knew that he would die. All those The 100 theories that Clarke or Raven could become the next commander were proven wrong when Emerson started bleeding out. It is very clear that only a Nightblood can take the chip, and they need to find Luna now.

That said, there is always the option of gene therapy. That is something Becca did to become the first Nightblood, and something they could do to Clarke or Raven right now — or maybe even Octavia, who already has some respect from the Grounders.

Not everybody could survive. The 100 fans may not grieve as hard as they did for Lexa and Lincoln, but it was still a big character and one who has helped so much in recent episodes. Sinclair’s life ended on the show, and now it is up to Raven and Monty to find out more about ALIE’s code and a way to stop her. They believe getting into the backend of the code will help, but surely ALIE will know when they do access her. With so many potential Grounders in her fold, it will be a very dangerous move for the “good guys.”

Raven and Monty have not stayed behind on their own. Harper, Bryan and Miller have remained to help to keep them safe. Meanwhile, the other four are off in the Rover to find Luna. They know they need her and will not stop until they find her and bring her back to Polis. Hopefully, with ALIE 2 she will be able to stop ALIE forever on The 100.
