Minecon 2016 Taking Place In Anaheim Convention Center, Tickets Available May 6 & 7
Mojang revealed new details about Minecon 2016 tickets. According to the game developer’s official website, the tickets for the all-things Minecraft event this year will be on sale on May 6 & 7. Mojang, similar to its previous selling process, will offer the Minecon tickets in two batches so there will be a fair chance for people in different time zones.

The upcoming Minecraft event will be “the biggest Minecon” yet, as 12,000 attendees are expected to participate. Six thousand tickets will be sold on Friday, May 6, starting at 6 p.m. PDT. Another 6,000 Minecon 2016 tickets will be on sale at noon PDT on Saturday, May 7. As for the price, each ticket is worth $160. The event is free for 3-year-old kids and under.
As for other requirements to purchase Minecon 2016 tickets, Mojang noted that an individual can buy a maximum of six tickets in one order. However, they should have the name of every person they are buying the ticket for, as it will have to be entered to complete the order. Mojang added the following.
“Tickets cannot be resold and are non-transferrable, the person whose name is on the ticket at the time of purchase is the person who will be admitted to MINECON. This means you cannot resell tickets.”
Mojang previously announced the official city location and dates for Minecon 2016 through an announcement video. Accordingly, the highly-anticipated convention for the popular sandbox video game will be held on September 24-25 in California. Check out the YouTube video below from the Minecraft creator.
As specified on the official Minecraft website, the venue for Minecon 2016 is set in Anaheim Convention Center. The weekend event specifically made for all things Minecraft is an opportunity for crafters to watch panels discussing the game. This is also the perfect chance for attendees to “hang out with thousands of like-minded community members, shake hands with Mojang team members and rub shoulders with some of the biggest YouTubers on the planet.”
During Minecon 2016, Minecraft fans can expect exhibitors showcasing amazing stuff that they are doing with the game. There will also be a number of interactive attractions for attendees to enjoy. Moreover, on the night of May 7, fans attending the event can look forward to a show on-site. And like in the previous Minecon events, there will be a costume contest where prizes await the winners.
As part of the Minecon tradition, a cape will be given as a free giveaway to those who will attend the events. Previous speculations, according to Twitter posts, suggested that the Enderman could be the Minecon 2016 cape. Check out a tweet below.
Enderman is “perhaps the most feared mob in Minecraft since its release,” according to Minecraft Guides’ description. “With its ability to teleport far away from the player and teleporting back in the blink of an eye, together with their strong attack and high health, the enderman is certainly a force to be reckoned with,” it added.
