Chris Brown Teases Cover Art For New ‘OHB’ Mixtape On Instagram, Fuels Surprise Release Rumors

Chris Brown has been hard at work previewing new music on Instagram since dropping his seventh studio album, Royalty, in December, but it looks like Brown is gearing up to release a brand new mixtape after seemingly confirming the news on social media earlier this week.

On Sunday, Chris Brown took to Instagram to preview some new music for eager fans by sharing a video of himself dancing and mouthing along to a track reportedly titled “Before Da Trap” prior to confirming the new mixtape rumors in the video’s caption.

“#OHBMIXTAPE coming soon! #BEFOREDATRAP,” Chris Brown wrote in the caption of his video, prompting fans to speculate over a possible release date for the new project.

While Chris Brown has remained mum regarding the status of his upcoming mixtape, fans suggest that the OHB title for Brown’s new mixtape stands for “Out Here Ballin’,” a phrase that Brown has used several times in the past on social media, although Brown has yet to confirm the official title of the mixtape.

In addition to his rumored “Before Da Trap” track, Chris Brown also teased a new song via Instagram on Tuesday that shows him rapping over a Grime beat before giving a shout out to Section Boyz when he raps, “My Section Boyz, you know everything lock off,” Capital Xtra reports.

Now, it appears that Chris Brown is aiming to further the excitement surrounding his impending mixtape after he took to Instagram last night to tease three different cover art pieces for his upcoming release.

In one photo, the letters “OHB” are formed with what fans are referring to as an “herbal substance” against a plain black background while another potential candidate for Brown’s OHB mixtape cover art features a gold and diamond ring with the letters “OHB” inscribed on it alongside the logo for Chris Brown’s current clothing collaboration with Black Pyramid. Lastly, the third option teased by Chris Brown for OHB’s cover art shows the letters “OHB” formed with the help of several $100 bills against a plain white background.

While it’s unclear which option Brown will select for OHB’s cover art, the frequent updates regarding Chris’ new music release has already sparked rumors suggesting that the “Back to Sleep” singer may drop the mixtape as a surprise for fans in the coming weeks.

In November, Chris Brown surprised fans by dropping a previously unannounced mixtape titled Before the Party after it was announced that the drop date for Brown’s Royalty album had been pushed back from its original Black Friday release date until December. The massive 34-track mixtape features both newly recorded and never-before-released music from the “Loyal” singer, including tracks like “Hell of a Night,” “Roses Turn Blue,” “Counterfeit,” and “Here We Go Again,” HotNewHipHop reports.

While Chris Brown continues to tease fans with the news of his upcoming mixtape, the singer recently opened up to Urban Ink via Inked Magazine about the evolution of his music throughout his career, noting that it’s his “fearlessness” that inspires him to experiment with different sounds.

“Well, it’s easy: fearlessness,” Chris Brown explains when asked how he approaches different sounds in his music. “It’s not arrogance, its fearlessness. People dog themselves before they give themselves an opportunity to fail. So I think they let other people’s insecurities bring their doubts down. I don’t let that stop anything I’m doing. It’s never worked out for me in the past, so I think that listening to myself and focusing on what I needed to do puts me in that category.”
