‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 7 Premiere Date Confirmed

The Season 7 premiere date for Pretty Little Liars has now been confirmed by Freeform. As expected, the season will start in the summer, just like it has every other year.

The first production meeting did not take place until April 7, but Freeform has already decided that Pretty Little Liars Season 7 will air on June 21. Design & Trend reports that this will be the last season of the show, but Freeform and executive producer Marlene King are still to confirm this.

There is never a long turnaround between season finales and season premieres. Pretty Little Liars Season 6 only finished last month, and King has only just finished writing the script for the Season 7 premiere. They have now started production work, and episodes will be ready for airing in June. The show tends to have a longer mid-season break, finishing around the end of summer and coming back in January, as other shows return from their winter hiatuses.

Liars fans are currently questioning everything that happened in the Season 6 finale. It was all left with Hanna being dragged at what looked like the top of the bell tower in Rosewood, and Alison committing herself for a psych evaluation after seeing what she thought was her dead mother and former lover. It turned out that it was a ploy by her new husband Elliot Rollins and her unknown aunt, Mary Drake.

Fans found out in the last few minutes of the season finale that Mary Drake and Jessica DiLaurentis are the twins on the show. King had previously said there would be a twin appearing, but it was unclear whether it would play out in the same way as the books. It certainly has not, and now book fans want to know how this story line is going to play out.

According to reports, the Pretty Little Liars Season 7 premiere will reveal Hanna’s fate and some details about Alison. It is possible that Alison will find out that her mother is potentially still alive. The Liars saw Mary but believed that she was Mrs. DiLaurentis instead. It is unclear whether Hanna is dead or alive, and fans are likely to find out in the season premiere.

There are also hopes from Pretty Little Liars fans that Alison and Emily’s relationship will finally blossom. Emison fans have been disappointed so far that there have been hints of a good relationship, but there has always been something else getting in the way. King did confirm that romance was in the air, but never said whether Emily and Alison would be the ones to finally get together.

In the Season 7 premiere, Alison has no idea that Elliot has been plotting against Alison and the other Liars. In fact, nobody knows. It is unlikely that Emison will happen right away, at least not until Alison realizes that her husband is not who she thought he was.

Shay Mitchell, who plays Emily on the show, hopes that Emison will happen. She admitted that her character has always had a soft spot for Alison, and it could be that Emison is the end game.

Liars fans want to know if other couples are going to get back together, too. The Season 6 finale saw Ezra and Aria hooking up again, despite Aria being with Liam. It is possible that this was a one-time thing, but the two will now work together on their book they are co-writing, putting them in close proximity with each other. Likewise, there was a hint that Hanna and Caleb will get back together. If Hanna is still alive, will this happen? What about Toby and Spencer, who also showed signs that they still worked well together?

Pretty Little Liars fans do not have long to wait now before the Season 7 premiere. Mark June 21 in the calendars now.
