‘RHOA’ Divorce Shocker: Peter Thomas Allegedly Seeking Half Cynthia Bailey’s Bravo Paycheck

It wasn’t a huge shocker to Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) fans that Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas’ marriage crumbled during the last season of the Bravo reality TV show. It seemed like they were not on the same page, and Peter would make every excuse he could to stay away from her. Farrah Grey posted that not only was the once happy couple getting divorced, but the Peter wanted half of Bailey’s RHOA income from the hit Bravo show.

Peter claimed for a few seasons that he didn’t need her income because he “made money” with his restaurant businesses. Cynthia explained recently that she funded his business ventures for as long as she had known him, and any profits he made was because of her hard earned money. At the RHOA reunion show, Peter explained that he now lives in Charlotte, where he manages one of the restaurants they opened together.

When RHOA fans heard that Thomas was going for Bailey’s money, they were livid. First, the man cannot seem to stay loyal to her, and makes her doubt herself and friendship in the process. Now, Peter wants her to sign over half her Bravo check to him, because he claims he is accustomed to a particular style of living, and he can’t live without the finer things in life. Essentially, it seems Peter has found a loophole to be able to sleep around, and keep half of Cynthia’s money in the process.

For much of the season, many fans couldn’t believe that Cynthia would want to try to make things work with him. He ignored her often and came home only when he felt he needed to to keep the money flowing on her end. Cynthia tried everything she could to make it work between them. She decided to spice up their sex life, make amends with him, and even had a heart-to-heart talk. It seemed as if he had no plans on working anything out with his wife and he was merely buying his time before he could bring up the painful idea to end their marriage.

TMZ reported last week that Peter and Cynthia were official over, and Bailey stated she was going to file for divorce in the next couple weeks. It was speculated that Cynthia was waiting to figure out how to handle the divorce settlement, and give herself a chance to develop a gameplan with her attorney. Last week, social media exploded when Peter went on the Power 98 radio show and stated he hired a lawyer to make sure he got a fair settlement in the divorce.

Peter talked about the divorce as if it was a sure thing, which confused RHOA fans. The last they heard, the couple was going to try to work things out with each other, because they cared deeply about each other. It isn’t a huge shocker that Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas are divorcing, but it seems so sudden. One week they announced they were officially separated, and only a few days to a week later they said they will be divorcing in the coming weeks.
