‘The Division’ Gear Sets Detailed For 1.1 Update

Ubisoft Massive is introducing Gear Sets to The Division with the 1.1 update due out on Tuesday, April 12. The developer revealed Friday the details for each of the four new Gear Sets coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One. and PC, along with the bonuses for each.

The four Gear Sets introduced with The Division 1.1 update include Striker’s Battlegear, Path of the Nomad, Tactician’s Authority, and Sentry’s Call. These are rare drops that can be acquired by playing the new “Falcon Lost” Incursion plus any Challenge activities. Some pieces can be obtained from blueprints that can be purchased.

The exception to this rule is the Path of the Nomad Gear Set. The pieces to this set can only be picked up from the Dark Zone.

  • 4-piece Set Bonus: “Tactician’s Authority” Talent – Every 60k damage your group does adds 1 percent skill power to you for a max of 100 percent bonus. Bonus reduced by 1 percent every second the group isn’t dealing damage.

Sentry’s Call

  • 2-piece Set Bonus: +30 percent Headshot Damage
  • 3-piece Set Bonus: +20 percent Damage to Elites
  • 4-piece Set Bonus: “Stalker” Talent – Headshots mark the enemy, increasing the damage inflicted on the target by 15 percent for a duration of 10 seconds each. A target can receive up to three marks.

It will be interesting to see how these Gear Sets will affect balance in the Dark Zone. Striker’s Battlegear and Sentry’s Call both appear as if they will be deadly when stacked with abilities such as Pulse. There’s already a debate over the quality of each of these gear sets raging in the The Division Reddit community.

The Division 1.1 update will drop sometime during the morning on Tuesday, April 12 in North America. It includes the new “Falcon Lost” Incursion covered in a previously published Inquisitr article. The additional details from the patch notes include the names of the new High-End named weapons. The “Warlord” is the new assault rifle, and the “Valkyria” is the new submachine gun. Meanwhile, there is a “Historian” marksman rifle added with this update, but it won’t be acquirable until the 1.2 update.

The most controversial change listed in the new patch notes involves changes to crafting. Ubisoft Massive explained it wants players to gain High-End items more often via loot drops from killing enemies versus crafting them. Named NPCs will gain their own loot tables that grant specific types of High-End items as a result. Meanwhile, converting crafting materials will be changed to the following with The Division 1.1 update.

  • 10 Standard (Green) materials instead of 5 to craft 1 Specialized (Blue) material
  • 15 Specialized (Blue) materials instead of 5 to craft 1 High-End (Gold) material
  • 10 High-End (Gold) materials instead of 8 to craft 1 lvl 31 High-End (Gold) item

Deconstructing Standard and High-End items will be altered to the following.

  • Deconstructing a Standard (Green) item yields 1 Standard material instead of 2
  • Deconstructing a High-End (Gold) item yields 1 High-End material instead of 2

Another alternative way to get better gear will be through changes to the Dark Zone vendors. The initial requirement to purchase Superior (Purple) items is being dropped to rank 15 from rank 30. High-End (Gold) level 30 items will drop down to Dark Zone rank 25 from 50. Finally, High-End level 31 items can be purchased at rank 40 instead of rank 50.
