Jennifer Lopez To Drop New Track ‘Ain’t Your Mama’

Jennifer Lopez has been in the music industry for quite some time. Just last month, she went back to Epic Records after being away for six years, signing a multi-album deal with the record label. And the singer and Shades of Blue actress has some new music to deliver to her fans this week, sharing the news on her social media. It’s a song called “Ain’t Your Mama,” one that she recently performed on American Idol.

Something that has always been associated with Jennifer Lopez is on full display for the artwork for the single. Lopez shared the cover with her Instagram followers, and by doing so she probably plenty of people excited – for different reasons.

The famous J.Lo booty isn’t hard to miss in those tight black shorts, and yet the artwork itself is still perfectly classy, as stated by a number of the post’s commenters. Jennifer, 46, captioned the photo by writing, “TOMORROW on iTunes!!!,” revealing that “Ain’t Your Mama” is hitting iTunes and Apple Music on Thursday. What’s more interesting is that the picture J.Lo chose as the single cover isn’t new.

As it turns out, the picture was actually taken 13 years ago, in a 2003 photoshoot for an issue of Esquire Magazine. And frankly, during these last 15 years, it doesn’t look as if the “Girls” singer has aged very much at all.

Jennifer Lopez’s “Ain’t Your Mama” is going to be available for download following the finale of American Idol on Thursday, April 7. She also teased the single in an Instagram post, lip-syncing the song.

With her eight-year-old twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, Emme and Maximilian, her music career, being a judge on AI, and executive producing and starring in the NBC drama Shades of Blue, J.Lo sure is staying busy. There is also her Las Vegas residency concert show titled All I Have, with its first show beginning on January 20, 2016.

The first 10 shows have already happened, with an additional 10 beginning in late May.

“I’ve been preparing for this moment my entire life,” Jennifer Lopez said in a statement. “The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny from the Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love – Dance, Hip Hop, Latin and Pop. It’s going to be the show I’ve always dreamt of creating.”

It might seem like a hectic life, but Jennifer loves it, admitting so on Live with Kelly and Michael. “I really do enjoy it,” J.Lo explained, the Daily Mail reports. “I wanna take advantage of the opportunities I have right now. My kids, we have so many amazing experiences together because of my job. And I just feel so grateful to be able to do it.”

Jennifer Lopez’s last album was A.K.A., which was released in 2014. The eighth album in her discography was a mixture of R&B, pop and EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and featured collaborations with T.I., French Montana, Iggy Azalea, Tyga, Nas, Jack Mizrahi and Rick Ross. A.K.A. garnered some mixed reviews among music critics, noting the blending of different genres as its weak point. The album produced three singles – “I Luh Ya Papi,” “First Love,” and “Booty” featuring Iggy Azalea, which gained a lot of attention not only for its title but for the music video as well. For a song with this title, featuring Azalea and Jennifer Lopez, the visuals would be pretty self-explanatory.

A.K.A. debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, with 33,000 copies sold in its first week. This was the lowest sales debut for any of her albums. J.Lo did not announce a new album to go along with “Ain’t Your Mama,” so it’s not yet clear if this is just a standalone single or part of an upcoming project.
