‘Real Housewives O.C.’ Stars Vicki Gunvalson And Tamra Barney Are Injured But Lucky To Be Alive After Desert Accident

Real Housewives O.C. stars Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge are recovering after what could have been a terrible tragedy. It was a close call for both ladies, who are just thankful to be alive after what looked like a deadly crash. Orange County Housewives fans will be relieved to know these stars survived the ordeal with no permanent damage.

Real Housewives O.C. stars Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge, formerly Tamra Barney, were racing through the desert together in a Polaris RZR on Saturday while filming a scene for Real Housewives. The Orange County ladies were supposed to be joyriding in the Glamis, California, desert when something went horribly wrong. The lightweight Polaris flipped and rolled over numerous times before coming to rest in the desert sand dunes as horrified film crews, trainers, and directors looked on, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Tamra Judge, who was driving the Polaris while Vicki Gunvalson was a passenger, either ignored or did not hear her driving trainers as they repeatedly told her to slow down right before the accident, according to TMZ, who interviewed people at the scene. Tamra did not slow the vehicle, or perhaps she was unable to make the vehicle respond as she wanted, since she was inexperienced in driving it.

Real Housewives O.C. film crews at the scene were joined by TMZ reporters as the rescue vehicles arrived. Their crash photos show the Bureau of Land Management Rescue personnel, along with other rescue workers and various people trying to assist, hovering over the injured women. Vicki appears to be seriously injured in all the photos, with her eyes closed and an emergency cervical collar around her neck. A photo of the Polaris RZR revealed heavy damage. The photos showed the apparent severity of the crash.

Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson were in capable hands, though, as rescue workers reached them quickly. An Imperial County Sheriff’s deputy, two ambulances, and an emergency airlift helicopter were dispatched for the injured O.C. Housewives. The Sheriff’s office later reported to ET that the two were taken to the hospital, although he declined to reveal their identities. He also confirmed that one woman was airlifted, while the other was transferred by ambulance.

Vicki Gunvalson vomited and complained she could not feel her fingers, according to TMZ. It was a frightening scene as Ms. Gunvalson was airlifted to the hospital. Ms. Judge was taken by ambulance, because her injuries were not assessed to be as serious as Vicki’s. Both Real Housewives O.C. stars were hospitalized but are now recovering at home. ET reported that a source close to Vicki told their reporters both women were in pain but recovering well.

“They’re OK. Both sore but thankfully, they’re both fine.”

The O.C. Housewives, according to reports, were just seriously bruised and banged up. Tamra Judge is recovering from injuries to her lower back and hip. Vicki Gunvalson has injuries to her left leg and hip, according to the E Online video above. There have been no reports of complications or serious or life-threatening injuries.

Real Housewives O.C. stars Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson are expected to make full recoveries after their harrowing experience. Judge was able to post an image to Instagram on Sunday letting her fans know that both O.C. Housewives stars were alright.

“Thank you for your prayers and concerns. We are both beat up but very lucky to be alive. I’ve never been so scared in my life. As the driver I have an overwhelming amount of guilt and just happy that the 4 of us are alive.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County reality show will air the crash in an upcoming episode. Fans will likely be glued to their televisions to see the details of the accident. The news is a spoiler in that respect, but fans now know that both Tamra and Vicki are going to be alright after their frightening crash.
