Jennifer Lawrence Set To Earn $10 Million From ‘Hunger Games’ Sequel

The Hunger Games shattered several box office records (it ended it’s box office run with more than $400 billion in the US alone) and it’s stars, mainly Jennifer Lawrence, are hoping to cash in on the sequel, Catching Fire.

Lawrence, who plays Katniss in the hit movie based on book by Suzanne Collins, is expected to earn more than $10 million for the Hunger Games sequel.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence is in the final stages of renegotiating her contract. Her $10 million payday will come from a combination from her salary and bonuses from box office performance.

If the rumors are true, Jennifer Lawrence’s $10 million payday will be quite a step up for the actor.

Lawrence was paid $500,000 for the first film. Once the film was a certified success (Box Office Mojo has the movie’s total pinned at $683 billion) Lawrence’s agents worked on renegotiating her contract. Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are also reportedly renegotiating their contracts.

Lawrence is currently signed on to star in four films based on The Hunger Games books. It’s unclear what she’ll earn for the third and fourth movies.

Lawrence, Hutcherson, and Hemsworth will all be returning for the sequel. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Stanley Tucci, and Elizabeth Banks will also star in the new movie. Director Gary Ross has been replaced by Francis Lawrence.
