The latest set of free games for Xbox Live Gold members has been announced. “Games with Gold” promo for April officially offers two Xbox 360 games and two Xbox One titles. But not only that, one of the games included in last month’s “Games with Gold” list is going to be free until the first half of April.
Major Nelson announced that Xbox Live Gold subscribers with Xbox One can get their own copy of The Wolf Among Us for free until the end of April. The action and adventure title from Telltale Games, regularly priced for $24.99, is based on the Fables comic book series created by Bill Willingham. It “is a dark, often brutally violent, and mature take on the characters and creatures of fairytale and legend,” its description on Xbox Store’s official page read.
Moreover, during the entire second half of April and expanding until first half of May, Xbox Live Gold members will have the opportunity to grab Sunset Overdrive for free. IGN’s Best Xbox One Game for 2014, this action and adventure shooter title is set in year 2027 where a huge percentage of the population in Sunset City turned into toxic mutants because of a “contaminated energy drink.”
In this game, players get the chance to “transform the open-world into your tactical playground by grinding, vaulting and wall-running across the city while using a devastating, unconventional arsenal,” the game’s official page said. Sunset Overdrive was developed by Insomniac Games and published by Microsoft Studios.

In addition to these two free games officially scheduled for April, Xbox One owners with Xbox Live Gold membership can also download and enjoy Lords of the Fallen. According to a previous the Inquisitr report, this CI Games’ action RPG is originally part of Microsoft’s free Games with Gold offering for the month of March. It has been free since March 15 and will be until April 15. Lords of the Fallen is usually available for $39.99.
Meanwhile, Xbox Live Gold members interested in free Xbox 360 games can also look forward to Dead Space, according to Major Nelson. This title became free on April 1 and it will be available without any cost for Gold subscribers through April 15. The sci-fi survival horror video game series developed by Visceral Games received a Metascore of 89 from Metacritic. As one of various critic reviews for Dead Space also highlighted on Metacritic, GamePro gave it a perfect 100 rating and wrote the following.
“It’s easily the best survival horror game since the masterful ‘Resident Evil 4’ and it sets the bar high for graphics, sound, and scares in its respective genre. ‘Dead Space’ is an artistic nightmare clearly designed for survival horror fans by a passionate and dedicated team of like-minded gamers. Just be sure to play it with the lights on.”
On April 16, Dead Space will be replaced by Saints Row 4, which typically comes with a $34.99 price tag. Released in 2013, this action and adventure game was released by Volition. In the game, the player takes the role of the head of the Third Street Saints who has been elected as the U.S. President. With superpowers, SR4 gamers need to fight and save the world from alien invasion, IGN noted. SR4 is free for Xbox Live Gold members only until April 30.
