Arizona Fountain Appears To Take Shape Of Jesus Christ On Easter Holiday [Viral Photo]

A famous Arizona fountain, formerly listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s tallest fountain, is in the news this week for entirely different reasons.

In a photograph snapped by Garry Johnson on Easter, the iconic fountain, mostly known to Arizonans for its green color on Saint Patrick’s Day, appears to take the form of Jesus Christ. Since it was uploaded online, the photo of the Arizona fountain has gone viral on the internet, having been shared more than a million times across different social media networks.

In this day and age, when images define much of how we consume information, it would not be difficult to understand why the above photograph has become so popular on social media sites. Unintentional images of Jesus Christ in clouds, objects, and food have often popped up in our story feeds on the Internet, and there is little doubt that the above image of the Arizona fountain also has a striking likeness to Jesus Christ.

There could be innumerable reasons why such images go viral on the web. But perhaps the most important reason that this image has been so widely shared by people could be because it was taken on the day that many celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, reports 12 News.

This is, of course, not the first occasion that Jesus Christ has been spotted by believers in or around the traditional holiday of Easter. Only last year, Mail Online reported about a California couple who were shocked to find the “miraculous” appearance of Jesus Christ on their pine dining table just a few days before Easter.

Just the year before on Good Friday, a California cafe owner was left “excited and emotional” after she spotted Jesus’ image on a pancake in her restaurant.

But while people go to extraordinary lengths to share their delight on spotting Jesus on random objects, it seems the New Testament figurehead is not the only one to be spotted on random objects in and around major festivals.

A few days ago, the Inquisitr reported about Satan being spotted in a piece of steak, which was found in the state of Baja California Sur in Mexico. That image also did several thousand rounds on the internet, with many people exclaiming that the appearance of the “devil” could be a bad omen for the country’s immediate future.

The Arizona fountain, located in the middle of a man-made lake in Fountain Hills, was built in 1970, and spouts for about 15 minutes at the top of every hour 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. MST. Its plume, King5 reports, can reach as high as 562 feet.

But while it is extremely popular among Arizonans, with the iconic fountain even being listed as the world’s tallest fountain at one point of time, this is the first time that a likeness of Jesus Christ has been spotted in the plume of the fountain.

Several people have interpreted the “appearance” as a response to benediction, but some psychologists claim that such appearances could in fact be a manifestation of our desire to find a likeness of Jesus in an object.

That could be open to debate, of course, but the Arizona “Jesus” fountain has certainly taken the internet by storm.

What about you — can you see Jesus in the fountain?
