Jennifer Staines: British Woman Jailed For Posing As Man To Dupe Teenage Girls For Sex

Twenty-three-year-old Jennifer Staines has been sentenced to serve three years for posing as a caring and generous man named Jason Spiller, so she could have sex with girls aged between 12-17. An investigation into her lewd behavior was launched after the mother of a victim contacted police to express concern that Jennifer was impersonating a man. She was so convincing that one her of young victims believed she was pregnant. The Guardian reports that Staines set up social media profiles using the name Jason so she could contact teenagers. On several occasions, the online contact led to meeting up and eventually starting a relationship.

According to the Bristol Post, Jennifer had sex with them as a man but wouldn’t allow his teen lovers to touch “him” in return. Although she used condoms (over sex toys), one of the girls went to her doctor concerned she could be pregnant. However, when police were notified about it, they visited Jason and discovered he’s actually Jennifer – and founder her strap-on, which police discovered DNA on.

DC Nadine Partridge, who led the investigation, said, “Jennifer Staines deceived and manipulated her victims into believing she was a young man, which is an appalling breach of trust. Her actions were driven by her own selfish desires and although her victims ‘consented’ to sexual activity with her, they were deceived about the true nature of what they were engaging in. The manipulation was so extreme that one of her victims still struggles to believe she was actually in a relationship with a woman, not a man.”

Staines pleaded guilty to sexual assault and two counts of possessing indecent photos of one victim. She also admitted two sexual assaults on a second victim and three sexual assaults on a third. She reportedly cried when Judge Barry Cotter told her, “You planned carefully to deceive. You did everything to ensure you had the ability to engage in relationships in which they believed you were a gender you were not. I can’t determine whether it was for love, love and sex, or just sex.”

Jennifer’s lawyer said his client is suffering from gender dysphoria. “The behavior demonstrated by Jennifer Staines was behaviour which was motivated not by desire for sex,” Stephen Mooney told the court. “It was a desire for love and affection.”

Prosecutor Fiona Elder said all three of Jennifer’s victims described relations with Jason as “normal,” and the 13-year-old victim said she “found Jason a helpful and sympathetic ear,” Elder said. “They became closer. They got together as girlfriend and boyfriend.”

Staines, as Jason, always wore a hat when speaking with his victims by webcam, according to reports, and Elder told the court that she always kept on her T-shirt and boxers on during sex, “which occurred some 15 times.”

“The victims and their families have been through a traumatic ordeal and they’ve found the courage to support the police investigation from the outset. I hope this outcome will help them move on with their lives,” lead investigator Partridge said.

“I believe there may be more victims out there so I’d encourage anyone who feels they may have been contacted by Jennifer Staines, posing as Jason, to come forward and speak to us. We’re here to listen, believe and support you.”

Jennifer Staines was sentenced to 39 months for acting and dressing like a boy to commit sexual assault, and using her power and manipulation to groom young girls online, and even conning her victims’ families in some instances.
