Adrienne Bailon: Did She Break Up Israel Houghton’s Marriage?
Adrienne Bailon has been making headlines for her eyebrow-raising relationship with Israel Houghton. Fans have been pointing fingers at The Real co-host for breaking up the gospel singer’s 20-year marriage.
Adrienne Bailon’s love life always seems to be the center of conversation. But now the former actress and singer is stirring controversy since she was spotted on vacation with the recently-divorced gospel singer in Mexico over the past weekend, sparking rumors of infidelity. Some believe that Bailon was the reason behind Houghton’s recent divorce.
The two were photographed walking around in matching swimsuits and enjoying the water. At one point, Adrienne was seen wrapping her arms around Israel and kissing him. Israel made headlines for being suspended from his position as minister of Lakewood Church amid rumors that he cheated on his wife, according to Radar Online. Houghton took to his Facebook page to address those rumors last month.
“I met Adrienne Bailon a bit over 2 years ago, we worked together & became friends… Our circles connected & we remained good friends. From a friendship, as two single adults we have very recently begun to explore a dating relationship. As I previously wrote in a statement I released a while back, My marriage had been over for quite some time before going public with my divorce announcement.”
Israel revealed that his marriage fell apart five years in the making and that his new girlfriend “should not be blamed for my past indiscretions.”
“It deeply saddens me that an innocent party would be dragged into this situation that I have taken personal responsibility for. Adrienne is a woman of integrity & character… Most of all she is a true friend, and she should not be blamed for my past indiscretions. I assure you – I am willing to own my wrongs and I have in the past. God knows & sees all things. The former Cheetah Girls star has kept quiet about her blossoming relationship with the Grammy Award-winning gospel singer. On Thursday, March 24, the reality star didn’t directly confirm or deny the rumors, but she did share a message previously written by Houghton.
“I truly love @joelosteen and my gracious Lakewood family. Here is their official statement. I have not been fired,” the 40-year-old wrote on Twitter.
In addition, an insider told Us Weekly that Houghton has been separated from his wife for a while now. Apparently, Houghton and Bailon met through mutual friends and decided to take their friendship to the next level.
“They normally hang out in group circles, but over spring break decided to take a trip alone together for the first time.”
Meanwhile, Adrienne Bailon lit up the beach when she showed off her killer curves in Mexico. The former pop star wore a multicolored bikini that put her fuller figure body on display. Adrienne’s bikini featured gold embroidery and a multi-colored corseted waist. She paired her super hot beach look with a black mesh dress, gold bangle bracelets, and turquoise earrings.
The Latina wore her signature light brown locks down in curls. Adrienne’s boyfriend was not with her during her recent beach sighting, but the Us Weekly story did share a photo of the entertainer taking a selfie with the new man in her life. Adrienne has been showing off her bikini bod on Instagram, but she has not yet addressed her controversial relationship.
Adrienne Bailon was previously engaged to Lenny Santiago late last year, and she was previously linked to Rob Kardashian. The couple ended their relationship after two years of dating back in 2009.
