Little Mix Lack Music Genre, Fight Haters As Get Weird Tour Gets Rave Reviews

Little Mix has been on the road with their Get Weird Tour, and things seem to be getting weirder than ever — and some even say they have no music genre.

Among the awkward moments that Little Mix has been experiencing, include derogatory comments about their outfits, according to Seventeen, Little Mix is shouting down the haters in more than one way.

For example, in addition to dealing with Zayn Malik possibly giving them shade about their new tour performance costumes being too sexy, Jade Thirlwall had to tell a nasty commenter on Twitter that they were homophobic and therefore unwelcome with Little Mix, according to Teen Vogue.

This should not be surprising to Little Mix fans since, as the Daily Record points out on March 18, “In 2014, the band teamed up with BeatBullying, one of the biggest anti-bullying organizations in Europe.”

Naturally, it can be shocking to Little Mix fans to hear that Perrie Edwards’ ex, Zayn Malik, has been throwing them shade about the sexy nature of their costumes considering that his current girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, regularly works the catwalk as a model for Victoria’s Secret in skimpy lingerie.

On top of that, Zayn Malik sent supportive tweets to Gigi Hadid when she was modeling nude for the cover of French Vogue, according to Daily Mail.

However, according to the Mirror, Zayn Malik tweeted “Love how people feel liberated naked.. Read a book liberate your brain” and some say that it was directed at Little Mix.

In the meantime, life for the Little Mix ladies has been about more than touring, reviews, and giving interviews. For example, Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock started her own fashion blog, according to Look, and stated the following.

“Being in a group, it is harder to get yourself across; you have to try extra hard as you’re all in it together. It’s nice for each of us to have something which defines us, and my blog is mine.”

Little Mix have also continued their quest as a band to define fashion with a recent magazine cover for Notion, according to Daily Mail.

Sadly, Little Mix has caused one incident because Jesy Nelson said she was putting her wedding on hold … “for a few years,” according to New Magazine.

Interestingly, one of the weirdest things that Little Mix may be dealing with is their lack of music genre. Specifically speaking about Little Mix, the Guardian explained the new world of genre-less music with the following.

“You cannot argue that grime isn’t a scene, or that Little Mix aren’t a pop band. But the days of pitting one against the other, or dismissing one because it’s not the other, are coming to an end. Different styles of music still exist but, increasingly, nobody cares.”

Despite their lack of genre or general hate mail from “fans,” Little Mix is dazzling on tour. Among the compliments they are getting include references to Little Mix’s ability to do choreography.

The Shield Gazette writes on March 17 that Little Mix’s concert at Newcastle had a “fairytale theme” and “the girls put on a theatrical spectacular I’ll never forget.”

On March 19, Birmingham Mail reviewed Little Mix’s Get Weird Tour at Genting Arena saying fans reported on social media afterwards. About the show, they said the Little Mix concert was “just like one big party,” and their “best concert yet.”

On top of performing their own songs, Little Mix is also covering other celebrity musicians on the Get Weird Tour such as Justin Bieber and Beyonce, according to MTV. Instead of covering the entire songs, however, Little Mix is forming “clever mashups.”
