Kesha ‘Regrets’ Suing Dr. Luke As Rape Scandal Weighs Hard On Singer’s Wallet — Broke?

Does Kesha have regrets for dragging herself through a lengthy court battle? According to sources, this is totally the case.

The “Crazy Kids” singer, who famously claimed to have been sexually abused by music producer Dr. Luke for more than 10 years, is said to be dealing with endless financial problems, having spent a fortune in legal fees in the hopes of winning the case.

Dozens of celebrities have come forward to show their support for the 29-year-old, particularly Taylor Swift who made the generous move to gift Kesha with $250,000 to back her staggering costs since Kesha hasn’t been able to financially support herself for several months.

Hollywood Life reports that in order for the singer to pull in enough income, Kesha is performing at several gigs, hoping that the money she makes from those events will be enough to keep her content for the time being.

“Cash poor Kesha is flying out of LA in a couple of days to do a show at spring break in Texas to earn some money. Singing to college students is not what she wanted to be doing. She is stuck career-wise and has no other choice right now but to do a quick show or two to help pay her lawyer fees and get a few bucks. This is not what she wants for her career and she is beginning to have regrets for some of her recent decisions.”

A lot of Kesha’s fans have since taken to Twitter, questioning how the “Die Young” hitmaker could be so low on cash, considering all the hits she has produced over the years.

With the court case already surpassing hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees, Kesha’s problems are only going to worsen once the case is taken to trial. This evidently means that until a judge decides whether Dr. Luke is found guilty of allegedly raping his protégé throughout her career, Kesha will have to make ends meet any way possible.

Her last studio album, Warrior, saw its release in 2012, followed with a short-lived tour (which is commonly known to be how artists make their money). Furthermore, it was also rumored that Kesha’s music producer had refused to pay the songstress a substantial amount in studio earnings following the announcement that she had filed the shocking lawsuit against him.

All in all, Kesha cannot make money from her music until her court case is officially closed. In the meantime, as previously mentioned, she is allegedly planning to take part in small gigs across the country to make up for the cash that she has missed out on, having been locked down to her legal drama for almost two years.

Reports of Kesha’s ongoing financial struggle comes just weeks after credible outlets alleged that Sony — the label that Kesha is signed to — were strongly considering the idea of dropping Dr. Luke from the record company.

Execs at Sony have become concerned over the conflicted situation, especially after the likes of Adele and Lady Gaga came forward and urged the label to “do what is right.”

“There is no contest. Kesha has no case in regards to her contract but they can’t afford the Adeles of the world out in the streets calling the label unsupportive. The fact that this hasn’t already been taken care of with Luke is confusing, especially for people in the building.”

Will Kesha ever be able to free herself from this incredibly difficult devastation?
